Is Halloween celebrated in your country? How?

And what are your favorite traditions?

I like pumpkin carving. Anybody else a fan of fresh roasted pumpkin seeds?

It's only celebrated in the southern provinces of the Netherlands I believe, and that might not even be so. I don't really value traditions myself.

I had pumpkin seeds on my plane from Madrid, they were ridiculously expensive and very tasty. My mom often makes mash pots of potato, pumpkin and carrots. Those are pretty delicious.

happy halloween everyone. We celebrate halloween here in Canada. Kids dressed up asking for candy/pumpkin carving. I love roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin pie.

In Mauritius some of the night clubs have mascaraed nights. That's about it. Nothing for the kids. While living in the U.S, I used to love Halloween. Both as a kid and as an adult.

Happy hallowe'en everybody! I don't go trick or treating, but it's an interesting tradition! Just make sure you don't get egged or TPed like I was.. anyways, do you celebrate Hallowe'en? What's your favorite practice of the occasion?

It isn't that popular at all here in the Netherlands (never celebrated it in my life and never got kids at my door asking for candy's), although I just heard on the news that it is becoming more popular here too. It seems to be more like an American thing.

Something typically Dutch is the Sinterklaas tradition (wiki), which is probably the most popular tradition here. But there currently is a lot of controversy about the racist undertone of the character Zwarte Piet (Black Pete), which is pretty damaging to the tradition.
