Well, yes. That's one of the reasons I like JavaScript. But it's not just that. In no other programming language would I know how to make a PacMan game or build a compiler for my own simple programming language.
It has a useful eco-system, which is partly because it's run in an already-running and a powerful program (usually a browser), and partly because the prototypal inheritance often makes code a lot shorter (no need for giant and scary classes to be able to modify some attributes of an object returned by function). It's also incredibly good at string manipulation, and prototypal inheritance also makes string parsing easy.

We can thank HTML5 for that. I'm guessing you don't remember the old days. It's great that you're starting programming in a time where that environment is so readily available. I can tell you I would have been MUCH more into programming if this were the case when I was a kid.

Well, HTML5 is responsible for some things, but not nearly all of them. The core of my compiler is written in JavaScript without relying on anything from HTML5, it runs in Internet Explorer 6 and in Duktape. Yet, JavaScript appears to be a language particularly suited for that, I wouldn't know to do that (convert arithmetic expressions to Assembly) in any other programming language I've studied.

Anyway, for the last few days, I've been writing a seminar about the implementation of QuickSort in my programming language, you can see it here (your computer can almost certainly usefully open at least one of those files). It's written in Croatian, but Google Translate does a relatively good job there.

I've made a presentation for the seminar about my programming language. I've spent the entire morning trying to get PowerPoint to run on my laptop. Then I gave up and started doing it in LibreOffice. LibreOffice is horribly buggy, but at least it runs on my laptop, while PowerPoint doesn't even do that. Before closing it, I knew LibreOffice might corrupt the formatting while saving the file, so I exported it to PDF first. And, yes, it did indeed corrupt the formatting (thank God I didn't try to make animations or advanced image editing, I don't know what would have happen had I tried), but now I at least have a usable PDF file, you can download it here.

The 32-bit Windows executable is available here. I must say I've expected it to be a lot more efficient than it actually is. I've expected it to be comparable with IntroSort (used in C++ "sort" directive), however, it appears to be a few times slower than IntroSort, as can be seen in this diagram.
Damn, I don't know if I should study this further, or to just accept that all the low-hanging fruit, along with the not-so-low-hanging fruit, is already gone, and that studying it further is rather pointless.
