I'll have finished recording the audio for the introduction video by tomorrow! It's about halfway done right now.
Oh, and you might want to update the Patreon banner. I think Dream Sphere is donating 45 bucks a month! If it is you Sphere, we all appreciate it. I'll have more money on my account by tomorrow. Patreon accepts debit, right?
This post of mine is quite off topic, but Is relavent to this comment, which I'm mostly posting because I don't want to take credit for anyone else's donation. If anyone has questions or commemts, PM me to continue this with me so we don't derail the thread.

No, definitely not me, well afaik... lol. I went through a number of the steps when I first found the page for supporting PV on wiki, but I certainly didn't finish it, so I know I'm not pledging right now. On the bright side, once I put in the work to start pledging, the overall support will be even higher than it is already.

I still haven't worked out my online banking issue, I'd need to do that first before setting up a PP account, which is how I plan to donate.

I've just been overwhelmed by irl things recently since I'm now working on finishing my secondary education in an online/adult school environment. Other things besides that have gotten in the way, but I'd rather not go into detail there.

I really just need to confirm a couple dates on which I'll get these things done, because my issue is I keep pushing it back/not prioritizing it even though it should be quick and easy to solve this problem. Since I rely on my parents for transportation I'll have to talk to one of them in the morning to pick out a time to go to the bank. I'm putting a reminder in my phone for that, just in case I feel like putting it off in the morning, so I'll feel particularly guilty/obligated to finally follow through with this promise. Lol.

Alright, no worries Dream. Focus on your personal priorities, then you can worry about the patreon!

That's smart, setting dates for things can help a lot.

I hope everything else is going OK for you. Thanks again!

In terms of the community channel option recently posted on the Pateron: would this enable the community to develop video-making skills and resources that could more readily translate into regular content in the future?

Also, would the community like to make a video / response video on NTT? It wouldn't have to involve everything that everyone eventually wants to say. Perhaps it could make the latest points about invalidity, maybe say something about why this matters / better arguments, and advertise the forum and wiki.

I'm really happy to do editing for this as I say, and would like it to be an opportunity to encourage Sisyphus Redeemed to make more vegan philosophy videos, but not super engaged with the arguments, if you wanted to start editing my first draft, then that would start to get the ball roiling again.

I've started work on a video about vegan YouTube advocates take on freeganism after this Edwins gen fallout:

Power point with voice over, maybe a camera appearance and a few clips thrown in. Peeps can let me know if its something they want on the channel. And what editions they'd like to see, even if just goes up on my channel I'd be happy to get feedback and can mention you in the credits. Heading out but will write more about it when I get back in.

Good image, although it's confusing to label nihilist on the left, since it seems to imply that nihilism necessitates or results in that attitude toward freeganism. That could probably be clearer that he happens to be a nihilist, and this is his perspective... but maybe better to label him with an actual belief he has, like his "ecological veganism" views?

How about counter examples all the way through?

So possible topics to cover:

Starting out the video introducing the context, Edwins Generation and questioning whether had done something wrong within veganism by still enjoying taste of meat and preventing it going to waste.

Unnatural Vegan on coherency of labels, questioning where is the harm.
ModVegan on vegan gatekeepers and future of the movement.
Tobias Leenaert on not hassling waiters in restaurants.

LayVegan & FootSoldier having stereotype definition of freegans as people who never buy food. A surety about the good effect on supply and demand of encouraging them to waste the food, so they don't get the order wrong again.

Contrast with Greece's potato movement who's produce was going to waste because of austerity measures, organized days for public to be able to buy in bulk from the farmers directly, correcting the utility of resources.

Liam Anthony on asking servers to change gloves before they start making his vegan food.

Contrast with Feedback and Society of St. Andrews who help farmers glean vegetables that were not cost effective to pick because of cosmetic issues that year and give to charity, raising awareness at the same time.

Gary Francione on not eating food cooked on the same grill.

Contrast with APV who also sees merit in treating some duties to equality as a rule, her clip of the black panthers free breakfasts program, and clip of food not bombs today.

Eisel Mazard on meat eating being cannibalism, his wildlife management paradigm of a sign saying don't feed the bears, us on one side, them on the other to do their own thing. Quote of Cora Diamond essay showing how flip of status quo intuitions.

Contrast with my interest in the Situationists concept of psycho-geographies, being able to cycle tour living frugally on land protests, doing a modicum of environmental consciousness raising through campaigns. The exploration of towns in the time between trains, the randomness of what you'll find, like a pram for a mother that will be able to let her kid sleep while she goes looking for a chance to stow away in a lorry, or lemons that you didn't know would help them prepare the citrus infused food that reminded them of home.

Counter examples might help.

I think it would be good to talk a little about how these ethical positions do or do not lead to similar conclusions.

E.g. non-religious scientific naturalist consequentialists are usually going to be very similar (even classical hedonistic utilitarians are going to agree 99% or so with a preference based altruistic consequenitalist), at least if they have access to the same information.
But deontologists can land on opposite sides of different issues pretty easily based on small differences of intuition, and it's hard to predict outcome based on those positions.

Freeganism seems to be one of those "shades of grey" topics, and I think it would be interesting to hear a debate on the subject.
Alcohol may have been a factor.
