Do you follow any of the people? I think I'm only subscribed to CultOfDusty and Thunderf00t at this point. The rest seem to be unwavering Trump supporters who spend 99.99% of their energy on SJWs

I'm still subscribed to Rubin Report although most of his guests are terrible

As brim has said the skeptic term is washed up and fit to burn, most of these are channels that talked about atheism since way back at the start of YouTube that still put out good content:

Theramin Trees

CosmicSkeptic
https://www.youtube.com/user/alexjoconnor

Dick Coughlan

Zinnia Jones

AronRa

Anthony Magnabosco

Actually scrap these, or don't, haven't uploaded in a long while, but still hold out hope:

I think that Massimo Pigliucci is pretty good (he's a real philosopher and a scientist). He used to co-host a podcast called Rationally Speaking. Now he has his own channel, but probably most of his most interesting stuff has been shared by other people:

https://youtu.be/wzNfZ8EsPFA

https://youtu.be/9tH3AnYyAI8

https://youtu.be/iq_k8LFMvd0

Another good podcast is Skeptoid (created by Brian Dunning).

Apart from a few exceptions, I've always found the whole skeptic/atheist community a bit toxic, to be honest (in spite of agreeing with a lot of their premises). Rationally speaking and Skeptoid are some of those exceptions.

You should probably unsub from Rubin and avoid watching him without ad block, it's pretty ridiculous at this point how he's pivoted to the other extreme.
Tribe mentality. Have you seen the Rubin AMA on Reddit?

Hasn't Thunderf00t said he's not part of the skeptic community anymore?

The term is probably lost. At a certain point, even if something had reasonable or good beginnings, it accumulates too much baggage to function. At this point, I don't think it's worth fighting to reclaim "skeptic" for reason. It's a shame when we remember the good times like the early days of the JREF, but words are not people, we don't need to mourn their passing out of utility.

I saw that Reddit thing through a video Dusty Smith did on it, was kinda brutal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdanSjmwtKI

Problem is Rubin has cool people on sometimes, like Sam Harris, Dan Carlin, Ayaan Hirsi Ali & Stephen Fry, so I need to stay subbed, even though I don't click most videos because 19/20 guests are insane

I wonder if there is some kind of large-scale funding behind this whole "focus on crazy left, ignore crazy right"-shtick that a lot of content creators are going with

I'm sure you'll hear about it through other channels if he actually has a good interview. It seems to be trending more crazy, so the good ones are probably a thing of the past anyway.
