How Many 'Scare Stories' Do you Get When You Google A Question?

I'm conducing a small survey question, as when i was searching up questions about womenly things I kept getting stories about 'TSS'. ((We are all adults here people  )).

I know most of these are just over exagruated and the media likes to scare us. But It got me thinking on a question google couldn't really answer for me.

How many times have you searched up a serious question and have only gotten media 'Scare Stories'? Not just about certain things, but even small things like, "Best way to play basketball?" and you get a story about a kid who died from doing a trick shot. Or even, "2016 politics survey" and you get stories on why Clinton (or Trump) is the 'Anti Christ'.

I'm very much curious about this, thinking about doing my own research on why Media likes to scare us so much. So, anyoen else notice this or is it just me?

People have a poor sense of risk assessment. The more horrifying something is, the more afraid of it people are even if something else is much more dangerous and common. It's why terrorism is so effective, but the tendency is also magnified by anything we do or choose to use. E.g. people are terrified of being killed by airbags, and would rather be killed by being thrown through a window. Somehow the Irony of something meat to protect you killing you makes it worse or more horrifying. We see the same tendency in anti-vaxxers.

That dose make sense, I just often wondered this. The over exaggeration of terrorist attacks or birth control from the far right wing people. To Trump being the Anti Christ. I have no idea as to why people love to read these things. Much less by others are so willing to give it to them.
