Youtuber Ask Yourself

Post by miniboes »

I've been following a relatively new vegan YouTuber called AskYourself. He seems very rational and has a good way of arguing for veganism. He also made a video on AI (rebutting Steven Pinker) recently and often expresses anti-regressive-left sentiments. This makes me think he will probably broaden the scope of his channel to many issues that we talk about on this forum. I recommend checking his videos out. I'll link some of the better ones below. Should we reach out to him and invite him to the forum?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0P8tPqneHoQ "Veganism is NOT a left/right issue."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNwtU0vh_y4 "Harmful Opinions should go vegan."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TiRaCw0jHk "Steven Pinker is wrong about AI."

His channel has two flaws that may keep him from becoming as popular as some other vegan youtubers; his video's have a weird look (he has a still picture of him on screen when he speaks) and are very long (apes have short attention spans). I hope I am wrong, or he adjusts his style, and he becomes far more popular than he is now.

Definitely. He seems to have a lot of potential. I remember his longer video from somewhere.

I think it was this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueqDkY3aNAY
There were some good arguments in there, but he also made a few mistakes from what I recall.

I'd be glad to have a dialogue open on this forum where we could give him feedback and help him improve his videos and channel.

The fact that he focuses on rational argument for veganism is great. We need more of that on youtube. It's too bad he embraces the negative stereotypes of vegans and atheists though.
I had a hard time getting through this one : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEAru-Fe7xY

He also seems to be a Gary Yourofsky supporter. :|
