New book?

Post by Mateo3112 »

I'm planning on buying a new science book, but i don't know which. I have considered Undeniable, by Bill Nye, and The Selfish Gene, by Richard Dawkins. Are those good? Any other suggestion?

Both are very good. Undeniable is more surface level, the selfish gene is in-depth. I liked the Selfish gene better. If you're just looking for ammunition for debates with creationists, undeniable is better. If you want to have a deeper understanding of how evolution works, the selfish gene is the book for you.

Are you only interested in science in relation to debates on religion etc., or any science?

Don't know your education level so this might be a bit elementary, but I love it. Gives a simple explanation of almost every scientific principle and idea you can think of. Everything is easy to read and very educational. I really like it. Especially good if you have children. But great for adults too!

If I recall correctly, Dawkins recommended "Why Evolution Is True"

Some of the alternative energy books miniboes has been reading recently sound pretty good, too.
