I would like to ask you for some support and opinions.
We (me and 2 my dear friends) are making a video game about something that is important to us. Pigsodus will be a vegan (but not openly, not in right-into your-face style) humorous horror-RPG about a pig that escapes a truck heading to a slaughterhouse after it learns that idyllic farm life is a trap. It will be a bit like a Trojan Horse - the story will tie people emotionally with the fate of the animals and make them think about it, but not in any specific way, they will choose their own.
Maybe there is someone here who have heard about it? The demo we made doesn't show the story at all, but gamers should find it interesting. We are really looking forward for some feedback.
We are gathering support on our Thunderclap:

PS. This is the video that precisely inspired us to make Pigsodus:

Looks like a fun game. The typing to attack made me feel like this is a game for young kids (unless that is what you were going for). I don't know if you have heard of "Pony Island" but it is a "humorous horror-RPG". Well I consider it humorous but that might just because I am into dark humor or not.

Side scroller and pixel art were both smart choices.
The art style looks good.
The gameplay looks pretty good except for the combat system, which is boring to watch. Are you guys willing to discuss this and take on constructive criticism to improve your project?

Sure we will! Tell us please! We will be more than grateful.
Have you tried to play it?

I haven't had the chance to play yet.
To put it simply:
You already have a control set and ideally animations for running, jumping, platforming in general. Stick to that and improve it for combat.
As it seems now, when you touch an enemy, you're switching to an entirely different game mode, initiating this turn based thing in a static location with that cloud covering up the scuffle.
That's probably never been done before in platformers, and there's a reason some things are not done. Innovation for its own sake is an error.
You're forcing the player to learn an entirely different control scheme, and breaking immersion by removing them from the platforming gameplay they have learned and expect. Don't do it without a really good reason.
Follow the "K.I.S.S." mantra. This is not simple, particularly for the user.
Keep it casual, and stick to expected gameplay systems. Don't have a bunch of different game modes like that.
If this is a limitation of the program you're using, use a different program that's optimized for platformers.

Cool idea, reminds me a bit of The Chicken Run. I kinda agree with brimstoneSalad about combat, perhaps it is too late to make suggestions seeing how this was posted on May, but i was thinking that maybe you could make it a more puzzle oriented game in which you defeated enemies by using your brain, while still being entertaining for kids. Kinda like Neighbours from hell.
