Indian Fast-food

Why is Indian fast-food not a thing yet in the States?
Not all Indian food is vegan, but a vast majority of it is vegetarian. It is also well seasoned and filling. I travel the country for work, and after eating it a few years back, I cannot understand why it is not nation-wide. You can buy sushi at a gas station, but try to get tofu matar anywhere that is not on the west coast. WTF!!!
Does anyone feel the same on this? Or can you recommend any Indian dishes I should try? (Pointless but interesting note; I hate the smell of Indian food, but I love the taste. My wife thinks it smells fine, but doesn't crave it like I do)
