Nut Cheese? Is it good?

Like I have said before, I am trying to replace cheese, but modern soy-based cheese replacement products don't seem to be working (Albeit none of the stores in my area carry Daiya, or any of the other good brands of cheese). But is Nut-based Cheese good? Like Mozzarella made from cashews or whatnot?

If yes, does anyone know a good store (not whole foods) where I can buy these? Or a good recipe so I can make it myself? I am mainly looking for cream cheese and mozzarella replacements. Am willing to purchase online as well.

I haven't tried any commercial products, but I really like homemade versions.

Almonds work too (to make nut cheese).
I mostly just blend, and keep tasting to see what it needs.

Usually:
Almonds
Water (just enough to blend)
Canola oil (for Omega 3)
Nutritional Yeast
Lemon Juice (just a little)
Vinegar (just a little)
Salt
Garlic

Use less nutritional yeast (or even none) for a more mozzarella taste. Nutritional yeast is a bit cheddary.
If you blend it well, it makes a nice creamy cheezy sauce or dip, or spread.

For cream cheese, you can leave out the garlic and use a bit of sweetener, or even fruit.

I'll try it out soon ^_^ It'd be awesome to get a replacement for cheese, it'd probably be much more expensive though...

Cool, let me know if you have any trouble.

Nut cheese can be cheap, but it depends on the price of nuts.

If you want to cut the cost, you can use half raw sunflower seeds in place of some of the almonds. You can also use walnuts, if those are cheaper than almonds where you are. I.e. Half sunflower half almond, or half sunflower half walnut.

It can easily end up cheaper than dairy cheese.
