Sounds like a plan. I know that Matt is currently away in Australia on a tour. Anyone know when he is back? I think it would be smart to release it when he is back in the USA so he can have a chance to watch it and potentially respond.brimstoneSalad wrote:It would be in parts, but all of the parts should be available on the same day so what when Matt goes to watch the first part (if he finds it), he won't have to wait days or a week or whatnot for the next (because he'll probably forget, he's a busy guy).EquALLity wrote:If you want the best of both worlds, couldn't you just release it in parts, and then at the final part, show it all or something?

I agree with brimstoneSalad. It's better to release it all at once (in separate parts).

I think it's fine to release it when he's out of the country (he can see it there, or when he gets back), the important thing is to have it all available at once, so whenever he does find it, we can be sure it will all be there.TheVeganAtheist wrote: Sounds like a plan. If he takes a couple months to notice it, that's OK (as long as it's all there from the start just in case he finds it right away).

I forgot to ask you this TheVeganAtheist:
The letter is very critical towards Gary Francione. I'm not sure what your current stance on him is, but I do know you were quite into his views. Are you alright with making a video containing criticism of him?

I have zero issue with being critical of Gary. I've lost some respect for him after he exposed himself as a theist, and was highly childish and critical of my channel.Volenta wrote:I forgot to ask you this TheVeganAtheist:

Re: Open Letter to Matt
Im working on the video, and I have a question to the authors about a section. Im not sure I fully understand what is being said (in the quote below) and so Im not sure how to animate this (the section in question is in bold):
The issue im having with the bolded section is: Is "both" in reference to Matt's position on eating meat AND the issue of creationism? What is the "both" referring to?"Speaking of creationists, let's look at the case of evolution versus creationism. There are droves of theists who think they understand evolution, and physics, well enough to offer the one word checkmate of "2LOT" (Second Law of Thermodynamics). As if nobody had ever thought about it before them. As it turns out, that mistaken perception of a contradiction between the two is based on a profound ignorance of BOTH subjects. Your claims here are no less ignorant, and we'll explain why at the end of this section, but the most pressing matter is that you attempted to make them at all, considering your own criticism of creationists for pulling the same kind of intellectually dishonest nonsense. This is a very unfortunate hypocrisy.
Both are cases of people attempting to debunk one science (evolution/nutrition) that they personally dislike by appealing ignorantly to some other science (thermodynamics/evolutionary biology) with only passing familiarity, by pointing out a perceived contradiction (a contradiction which doesn't actually exist -- and if it did, you would have to admit the other option is that evolution is false; are you really ready to make that assertion?), to discount the expert opinion of every major body of scientists on the subject in the world along with irrefutable evidence which they conveniently ignore in favor of their own preconceptions.
There is no difference here. Except, there is a good explanation for creationists showing this behavior; their indoctrination prevents them from accepting scientific consensus. You have supposedly found your way out of the religious dogma and embraced science, however counterintuitive it might be sometimes. However, when it comes to the consumption of meat you dismiss scientific consensus in an awfully trivial manner. What justification do you appeal to that makes scientific consensus important for the theory of evolution, the big bang, or even heliocentrism, but casually dismissable in favor of your own preferences when it comes to whether or not meat is good for you?"

Yes. It's like this:TheVeganAtheist wrote: The issue im having with the bolded section is: Is "both" in reference to Matt's position on eating meat AND the issue of creationism? What is the "both" referring to?
Matt: Denies nutritional science, because "one word: evolution". Matt doesn't understand nutritional science OR evolution.
Creationists: Deny evolution, because "one word: thermodynamics". Creationists don't understand evolution OR thermodynamics.
