Well obviously

Heh, who's the coward now?
brimstoneSalad wrote:He's not a rational person, it's hard to tell what was going through his mind.
I guess it's hard to look inside the head of a moron, I guess.
brimstoneSalad wrote:Because he's not rational, and apparently can't stand to be criticized.
I kinda find it ironic, because when we used to talk a lot, he wouldn't care when I told him he was being a fuckin' idiot, and always criticizes other people, but I guess when he gets shown with evidence that supports the fact that he's wrong, well..
brimstoneSalad wrote: No. You just learn that some people aren't open to discussion, and others are. He's one of the former.
But he was always willing to debate sometimes even the most trivial things. I guess when he knows he has a bad understanding of something is when he backs out... pathetically.
brimstoneSalad wrote: I wouldn't worry about it. I just don't bother with people like that.
But I got that righteous kind of sentiment, so if I can get his attention (and if he doesn't block me), we'll have our final battle.
brimstoneSalad wrote: He's wrong for not engaging in discussion.
Or just being a big baby.
brimstoneSalad wrote: You were too trusting. He is just irrational.
What do you mean?

RedAppleGP wrote:Why did Chris claim the death if animals argument in the suicide post was a red herring?
Probably because he chose not to think about it and attempt to understand the argument being made, and instead looked up fallacies and tried to find a name to throw at you to sound clever.
He probably doesn't really know what a fallacy is.
Well he himself didn't say it was a red herring fallacy, but he did say it was irrelevant and that we're trying to put him down, bring the discussion off topic, etc., which is what a red herring essentially is. Also, I'm pretty sure when we sent him the links to the logical fallacy site, he probably didn't even bother clicking them or Googling the fallacy he made. Anyway, I was trying to ask why he thought that argument was irrelevant. I'm pretty sure he didn't think abstractly enough about it, and just presumed that it was irrelevant and that we're trying to put him down.

well
EquALLity wrote: His name is death_by_rage. ;D
I think he's just angry in general, based on his rants about political correctness etc..
That's just his screen name. He calls himself that because of rage comics.
EquALLity wrote: I think it's his way of rationalizing not addressing my arguments (which he can't, because he's wrong).
That makes sense.
EquALLity wrote: No way, it's great to have discussion.
And you're not responsible for his actions, anyway.
But he can't discuss when he knows he's wrong because he'll make himself look like the victim.
EquALLity wrote: Why would you apologize?
Because he's an old friend.

But he's a moron, so...

I would put a witty video here, but, no.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure he couldn't tell if it was relevant or not.

Ok so just recently Chris and I were "discussing" the whole issue. I put that in quotes because I kept talking with him, but he always responded with shitty memes. I put up with this until I guess I annoyed him to a point and he blocked me. So I won the final battle. So I used my old Twatter and sent him this song:

I meat, because you were friends, you wanted to assume the best and trust him to have an open mind.

He's probably not ready to have these types of discussions; he didn't stick around very long at all.

Yeah I probably should be more weary. I guess since I knew him for so long I kinda had faith in him.. and it backfired.
Anyway, I gotta few more questions, if you guys don't mind.
Did Chris lose? Or did he just forfeit but still think he won?
Do I actually come here for acceptance?
Am I brainwashed?
Why is Chris acting 1/6th his age?
Why do people get so angry and stubborn when they know they're wrong?

Well, ok, but you're still not at all culpable for other peoples' actions.
RedAppleGP wrote:Because he's an old friend.
Sorry it turned out this way, but I don't think you should apologize to save a friendship with a person like him.
He's not really worth being friends with if he's a stubborn and irrational prick, IMO.

Well, he's irrational, so I really doubt he'll concede anything.
Has he ever admitted he's been wrong about anything?
RedAppleGP wrote:Did Chris lose? Or did he just forfeit but still think he won?
I don't see the difference.
RedAppleGP wrote:Do I actually come here for acceptance?
I couldn't know that. :P
But so what if you do, to an extent? That doesn't invalidate your arguments or anything.
RedAppleGP wrote:Am I brainwashed?
Well, obviously we're all going to say no, but Chris would say we're brainwashed also. ;)

He can't explain why you're brainwashed; it's just a baseless assertion that's pretty obviously a defense mechanism.

I guess because they're too arrogant and closed-minded to admit they are wrong.

He barely even engaged, he just threw a fit and lost.

From the girlfriend thread, you don't strike me as the type. I like to think you come here to learn and be challenged. This is one of the best places on the internet for discussion.
RedAppleGP wrote: Am I brainwashed?
No, you're kind of the opposite. It's hard to convince you of anything. :P
How long as EquALLity been trying to convince you to care about politics? :D

Well I probably should have guessed that Chris gets juvenile when he loses to people much more intelligent than him.

I have to think about it.
EquALLity wrote: Well, he's irrational, so I really doubt he'll concede anything.

Yeah but to minor things. Like when he showed me the article about veganism causing mental health issues, I presented him the evidence that brimstone reported, an he admitted that he didn't even read the article. So he's one of those guys.
EquALLity wrote: I don't see the difference.

True. He probably just said it to make me look like the bad guy because he knew he was gettin' rekt.

So he's not smart enough to defer to his intellectual superiors.

Ok I have to admit something, and this is going to make me sound like a horrible person;
One of the reasons why i talked with Chris is because whenever I talked with him, I always felt smarter than him.
