It was a marketing plot all along!

Anyway, I'm quite busy with my exams at the moment, I can start writing for the follow-up in June.

Looks like Matt Dillahunty will not be doing a response to our letter/video.

Im really curious why he refuses to address it. Cognitive dissonance? Fear of having to seriously consider the arguments and possibly change?

Any suggestions on how to respond to him?

Perhaps the members of the forum would like to respond to his comment:

Your response was pretty good.
Matt Dillahunty wrote:Nope. No idea how I became his/their target other than attention seeking...as I've never been anti-Vegan, rarely talk about it (as evidenced by the fact that they had to go back 7 years to find a short clip to misunderstand in order to make me a target). Not worth my time.
Well, we could make it worth his time. But that would take a lot of our time and/or money to advertise it enough and goad him to respond.

The followup could have a stronger tone.

I have the feeling Matt has not even watched the other parts or perhaps not even the entire first video.

Sure he has. No matter how disagreeable the first part was, the video was about him after all. Few people would lack the curiosity to watch the whole video if it were dedicated to them. I doubt Dillahunty is one of these few.

Dillahunty is smart enough to realize that he made stupid arguments, but as he makes a living on his reputation of being a rational person he (correctly) worries that a response might bring more attention to the fact that he is not always rational.
How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

Okay, well, my respect for Dillahunty has just been cut in half.

I still don't understand in what way(s) the video misunderstood or misrepresented his views. The whole thing stinks of cowardice.

I think Matt deleted the comments I and the other youtuber made. Can anyone else confirm?

It wouldn't surprise me, he has a history of impulsive censorship when something is critical of him.

Did you screenshot your reply to him?

Yes. I replied yesterday trying to explain the intent of the letter. I'm pretty sure there was nothing offensive in there. It seems Matt is really not open to this discussion at all.
