Sir, I am attempting to reason with you. Why are you refusing to respond properly and just dismiss it as a mere 'game?'

James, please do not be rude to other forum members. He's just trying to have a conversation.
James N. Dawson wrote: Wed Feb 08, 2017 6:54 pm It's clear from your reply that our philosophical views are too divergent to have a fruitful discussion on this forum,
What do you consider to be fruitful discussion?
If nothing is right or wrong, how can a discussion bear fruit?

I understand the desire of people to talk without logic as an experience; enjoying the journey as a sort of meditation (often while baked), but you're talking about actual output at the end. This is different.
James N. Dawson wrote: Wed Feb 08, 2017 6:54 pmI don't concede your refutation nor do I accept the rationalism as you assert it as the only valid epistomology or exploration of truth and morality, so I will not submit to it.
You don't have to submit to it, you just have to abide by the rules for the sake of argument.
Like you would (hopefully) follow the rules if you sat down to a game of chess. Maybe you would refuse to do that too.
Do you have any friends? I ask seriously, because I don't understand how this attitude plays out in your life. We would be happy to be your friends, but you will have to treat us with some respect and just humor the rules of the house.

This is an opportunity for you to learn. Do you think yourself incapable of playing by the laws of thought, even if temporarily, as an experience?
I don't understand what you think you have to lose by giving it a try, or if you consider us beneath you.

I don't retract or apologize for any of my statements. I believe they were all true, necessary and relevant.

Again, please answer my question. Can I unregister? Yes, or no. Thank you.

I think brimstone asking if you had friends or not was a pretty valid question.

Anyways, if you're not interested in the forum, just sign out forever, and delete all the cookies it left on your computer. We have an abundance of inactive accounts here, so this won't bother us.

Yes and no. They are both true simultaneously. It's a dialetheia. :D

This is fun, I like not using logic.

I don't think you're gonna get to him, you should probably delete his account at since he asked you and hasn't anominized his account

It's not clear why he wants to unregister.

Maybe it's because he's signed up for email alerts, and he doesn't want them. If so, he can change that in the user control panel by clicking his username in the top right.

It might be because of privacy, or because he feels embarrassed by his behavior here, but that wouldn't help.
If I deleted his account, it can't be undone and all that would do is deny him access to it to post more from it to resolve the disagreement/clear the air and leave on better terms. His name would still be right there.

I'm definitely not deleting all posts and responses to those posts and threads. Not only would that be tedious, but it also sets a bad precedent, particularly when people feel entitled to it rather than asking nicely and multiple posters are involved (I don't feel it appropriate to delete other people's posts for him).

Only spam and duplicate posts get deleted. And like two other posts ever, because the person asked nicely and had a good reason.

I could change his username, but that would only affect future posts and the name by his posts here, not the replies. His name would still be in these threads. Individual posts would have to be edited.

If he just doesn't want to post anymore, he can simply leave and not come back. It makes more sense to leave him the option, in case he cools down later and wants to apologize or changes his mind and decides he might have something to learn here. I'm sure I could learn something from him too, if he would engage in discussion. He has made quite a few interesting and polite posts... up until this tantrum.

Certainly his reasons for wanting to "unregister" are not just for a childish and dramatic exit; the internet equivalent of slamming a door and stomping away. ;)

I don't mind changing my quotations with a new username. I actually have a good idea what it should be, because it sums up his actions perfectly.

I don't understand. He seemed very polite.
