Did he put his foot in it or something?

He seems to be more intelligent than TJ, and he will probably respond to you.

He also admitted in the video that we "should" do things we don't do. Which is really the whole point of veganism.
I just had an argument with him, on his Youtube channel. He surprisingly didn't insult me, just like he does with every other comment that disagrees with him. He acts really childish in other comments.
After the first posts, he couldn't refuse my points, so he used the argument that I just make people feel bad and that it's not useful to advocate veganism.
I'm not sure whether he's open minded or not.
Is there a way to link to the conversation? It's long, and I can't just post a photo. At a certain point, he even concedes that veganism 'might' be the least harmful way and the most logical.

In a sense, he's right; that advocating strict veganism isn't the most useful. 10 people changing to eat 99% less animal products does more to change the world than one person eliminating 100% of animal products. And advocating that people eat less meat is sometimes more effective in changing behavior than advocating they eat no meat.

I suggest you concede this, and then bring up the Paris exemption, and flexi-veganism.

Ask him if he thinks he would be more receptive to a more liberal take on veganism that just vastly reduces animal consumption, without an absolute dogma to eliminate it entirely.

His reply to you doesn't surprise me.

Maybe you can invite him here to discuss it?

Not that I know of. You may be able to select the posts, and copy+paste them into quote tags.

All rational people ultimately do; I think the main issue of contention is that of method, and what can be viewed as extremism in veganism- or what some vegans actually do, which is make the perfect the enemy of the good.

I can't believe I just wasted 18 minutes of morning watching that...... =[
He responds to TVA response to AA KFC meat mockery with ...
Trying to eat less than a handful of salad and the smallest bit of carrots, you can tell when he is chewing it that he doesn't like it all and of course it doesn't show him swallowing it!
I believe this is also the only time he put down his e cigarette...

Nice, I see he replied:
MrRepzion wrote:Tear me a new one all you want, I honestly don't mind, but you should know that I honestly don't care if someone refutes me regarding my views on veganism. Its a trivial matter to me. My stance on the issue has also changed considering that video is nearly 2 years old and I do admit my arguments are fairly weak, but again, I don't really care either. I find issue such as mental health to be far more important for me to talk about than veganism, which is why I haven't made a video on the topic for so long. all in all, eat what you want people! Also i wasn't making an 'argument' against vegans, merely expressing my opinion on the issue. peace!
He's so right! Eat whatever you want (Plants, Dairy, Meat), and for that matter screw whoever you want (consenting adults, people who are too drunk to know what's going on, children), as long as you don't personally care about the effects of your actions, you should do whatever you want and enjoy yourself! Clearly, not personally caring about things makes them unimportant, or trivial, and people should never be bothered with things they don't care about.

Well, those 'arguments' of Mr. Repzion weren't particularly hard to refute. :P Kind of sad though that he wants to avoid the discussion altogether now, he probably knows very well that there aren't any serious arguments in favor of carnism.

Comment's like this is why I love The Vegan Atheist, thank you for all that you do!

You make a valid argument, friend. As I have unsubscribed from MrRepzion, I have also considered going vegan. I am pleased to have found an atheist who does not use "straw man" arguments to elaborate the defense for their beliefs. Thank-you, for such an informative piece."

I love that you pre-emptively nailed the immediate objection to analogies VA. It's a shame that you can't cover all the done to death arguments right away. "plants feel pain to!" Best episode yet.
