I have a concern about supporting non-ethical businesses when one can find a vegan establishment with a bit of effort. Anyone who uses Happy Cow when traveling knows how common it is to look for a vegan restaurant that has gone out of business. These days, unless you are in a developing country, if there is a McDonalds there is also a vegan restaurant within walking distance so it is often unnecessary to go to Taco Bell or Wendy's. I don't think it will be long before someone becomes a billionaire by starting a vegan fastfood chain and then unethical food companies will be even easier to avoid. Vegans should also remember that it is likely that their been burger is fried right next to the meat burgers and that it is common for the staff to use the same spatula .guitaramole wrote:Is there also a concern with giving money to businesses that profit from animal cruelty, even if that money was used to buy an item that is animal-free?
Is it vegan to eat at McDonalds?

How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

Apparently they are vegan: https://veganuary.com/chain_restaurants/kfc/Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wrote: Can I eat the fries and the corn on the cob at KFC? I have been eating them ever since I went Vegan, but if it is not Vegan, I will stop.
I think McDonalds is a rare exception, and maybe only in the states is it beef fat.
