and here are some from a private conversation we had.
Well I didn't include most of it. If I had the entire conversation, it would add up to a hefty 35 screenshots. They were all pretty much useless, but then again we could be missing some key things.brimstoneSalad wrote:Oh, that wasn't as long as I had thought it would be.
Funnily enough, I actually did bring that up to him. I told him that we don't always agree with each other because we're vegans, and we constantly debate with each other. He replied with this gem:brimstoneSalad wrote:Maybe he didn't see the threads where we were arguing with each other... which is like, more than half of the threads here.

Why do you even think he made that claim? For some special pleading or something?brimstoneSalad wrote:Cult mentality is based on authority, not critical thinking and internal discussion.
He's not a rational person, it's hard to tell what was going through his mind.RedAppleGP wrote:Why do you even think he made that claim? For some special pleading or something?
Because he's not rational, and apparently can't stand to be criticized.RedAppleGP wrote:Why do you think he's acting like this?
No. You just learn that some people aren't open to discussion, and others are. He's one of the former.RedAppleGP wrote:Am I in the wrong for inviting him to the forum, or getting in a debate with him in the first place?
I wouldn't worry about it. I just don't bother with people like that.RedAppleGP wrote:Should I apologize and put this all behind us?
Should I say something diplomatic to put him in his place? Or should I be up front with him?
He's wrong for not engaging in discussion.RedAppleGP wrote:Is DBR in the wrong here, or did we push the envelope?
You were too trusting. He is just irrational.RedAppleGP wrote:Am I smart, or is DBR just stupid?
Probably because he chose not to think about it and attempt to understand the argument being made, and instead looked up fallacies and tried to find a name to throw at you to sound clever.RedAppleGP wrote:Why did Chris claim the death if animals argument in the suicide post was a red herring?
I agree with you that he just doesn't want to be wrong.RedAppleGP wrote:Why do you think he's acting like this?
His name is death_by_rage. ;DRedAppleGP wrote:Why is he so mad?
I think it's his way of rationalizing not addressing my arguments (which he can't, because he's wrong).RedAppleGP wrote:Why is he making these absurd claims?
No way, it's great to have discussion.RedAppleGP wrote:Am I in the wrong for inviting him to the forum, or getting in a debate with him in the first place?
Why would you apologize?RedAppleGP wrote:Should I apologize and put this all behind us?
I don't think he's going to be receptive either way.RedAppleGP wrote:Should I say something diplomatic to put him in his place? Or should I be up front with him?
If he was in the right he would be able to address my arguments easily.RedAppleGP wrote:Is DBR in the wrong here, or did we push the envelope?
RedAppleGP wrote:Am I smart, or is DBR just stupid?
He seemed to trying to be suggesting I was changing the subject as a way to avoid addressing what I was saying.RedAppleGP wrote:Why did Chris claim the death if animals argument in the suicide post was a red herring?
