Thank you for the advice NerdySienceGirl :) almond is also my preferred milk to put on my cereal. I usually eat; rough oats with sliced apple, dates or apricots, sunflower seeds and almond milk.

Now for the up date.
Day 3-4
I have been craving, meat and dairy. I also walked past a specialized cheese store in my town, that was hard to walk by and not visit. Now I bought wheaty products, a lot, and hope that they will settle my cravings. My headache is almost gone and i stopped using cronometer for the moment. There are just too many other things i have to focus on atm. I have a very varied diet and I have been vegan before, so i have enough knowledge to know what I need to eat.
I am watching what I eat so that i dont eat too much of one thing, like peanuts, those are sooo hard to not eat a bunch of.

much love

This will be a time for a lot of cravings. Just remember that a craving only lasts a couple minutes, so you have to distract yourself and it will go away (if you focus on it, it can seem to last forever).

A simple mobile phone game may be of good help for those distractions: Eat some nuts and play a mobile game to distract from the craving and satisfy a bit of hunger. But the time you play a short puzzle or something, the craving should be gone.

Day 5:
Ate a lot of snacks today, no more headache. I have been peeing a lot more, probably because of the added veggies. I have also learned that I need wheathy products atm, because they help me with transitioning easier. Still craving, but not as much. Sleeping better and my energy levels are a bit elevated. Had the thought that "this is not as difficult as i had thought initially, maybe i could do another 7 days?" tomorrow is Sunday and my last day, but I have a sneaking suspisseion that i will go for another 7 :)

Yeah, veggies have quite a bit of water in them, which can help with many things (including headaches), but of course the one bad point is having to pee often. Hydration is good though (nothing unhealthy about peeing).

Hi, nice topic idea! It's interesting to read your perspective as a new vegan.
About your cravings, have you considered getting vegan 'meats' and 'animal products'?

I hope you stay vegan, also.

Alright i think an update is in order. I fell of the wagon and had some downtime. But i held on for 5 extra days. So a total of 12 days without any animal products.

The initial experiment for me, was to see if I could be vegan without becoming morally superior in my mindset and everyday life. I thankfully did not! So now I am giving it another try, because I didn't like the way my body felt when eating meat, stuffed up, tired, grumpy and only focused on the meat and not the other goodies that are available :)

This is me giving it another go, but I have also realized that i will have a transitional period where there will be some bumps in the road.

See you on the forums, and good day to you all!

I'm glad you're sticking with it.

Why were you worried about becoming morally superior in mindset? I haven't heard that often as a concern.

We just have to keep perspective. If you don't want to have a 'morally superior'mindset, you won't. :)
