I'm not vegan so I understand you miss some "good ole'" things a lot. But whenever I go on a vegan-streak for a couple of days I never miss meat in the way i need some lame ass "mockery meat". Legumes, fruits/berries, leaves, flowers however deep you wanna go botanically speaking its all so good. Simple reason is of course if it adds a lot of flavor, and is sweet or fat enough; it has been cultivated by humans to further those qualities.

I used to really love the veggie nuggets, and veggie burgers. But now I have cut them out, they aren't really that good for you, Tofu is a better substitute. And sometimes it kinda weirds me out when I see mock meat that looks exactly like meat... The other day I saw vegan sea foods, including smoked salmon.... Now that is taking it to another level.

Aside from the TVP found in some mock meats, no. But only because I can't seem to find it anywhere.brimstoneSalad wrote:Have you tried TVP?

Yeah, Gardein has mock fried fish, I would like to know how it tastes, but then again, I don't really like fish. The weirdest I have seen is everything from Beyond Meat, their burgers are weird looking!bearbear287 wrote:I used to really love the veggie nuggets, and veggie burgers. And yeah, veggie burgers are not as good for you as, say, beans and lentils, but I like to add them into my diet as a single daily meal.

I don't eat mock meat because I "miss chicken", I eat them because they taste good. And even if I did miss chicken, there is nothing wrong with thatohokaythen wrote:I'm not vegan so I understand you miss some "good ole'" things a lot. Tofu can also be unappealing due to its lack of flavor, hence the importance of adding flavor. I like Trader Joe's Savory Tofu (extra-firm) and Teriyaki Tofu (extra-firm). Tofu is on a spectrum between soft and extra-firm. It's nearly flavorless, but can easily have flavor added to it.Dream Sphere, in reply to ThatNerdyScienceGirl, wrote:Maybe it's the texture that bothers you more?

Sweden. Googled it> NL wiki > Swedish. It was shown in early 90's here on public service and I suppose also a picture book made out of itminiboes wrote:In the Netherlands his name is Boes, but he has other names in other countries. Don't remember it at all except a book about him making a hole in the ice fishing? or some kind of house on the ice. IDK I was probably 3 or something but its interesting a picture can set something off inside you like that :]
