Re: Fruits
Both Freelee and Kristina do not seem to get enough protein, even though Frelee consumes 3000 (!) calories a day. They are probably deficient in other nutrients as well, as you just don't get everything from fruits. Legumes, vegetables and whole grains should have a higher priority; you just get more nutrient bang for your calorie buck.Fuzzy wrote:Watch Freelee the Banana girl on Youtube and FullyRawKristina. I recommend this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exeZTWz8D5I
Keep in mind these girls are still young; the real problems in nutrition only show up when we're older. They are also often invisible; for example, you might very well not notice you have a potassium deficiency until you're in the emergency room with muscle spasms, as happened to the sister of a classmate of mine just last week.

Re: Fruits
I'm not a fan of Freelee. Don't get me wrong, I do advocate her veganism, but the way she says that meat-eaters should be forced to go vegan, or (I think she said this?) that if you eat meat, you deserve to be killed. I mean, if you believe those exact statements, doesn't that make you just as bad as the people you despise?

They do get enough protein. Freelee has blood tests uploaded to prove it along with her bf who also lives this lifestyle

Re: Fruits
Again, she's consuming 3000 calories a day, which only works for her because she excercises so much. For most people this is simply not going to work. It's so much easier to just eat your beans and veggies and get enough of everything in a normal amount of calories.Fuzzy wrote:They do get enough protein. Re: Fruits
It's also not very environmentally sustainable. Fruit has a pretty intense footprint compared to beans and grains. I don't like the wasteful lifestyle of overeating and then burning off the extra calories.miniboes wrote: Again, she's consuming 3000 calories a day, which only works for her because she excercises so much.
It's better to eat fewer calories if you can. And I say that as somebody who tends to eat well over 2k myself, but at least I'm not burning (wasting) half of them with inordinate amounts of cardio.

Re: Fruits
Males do need a few hundred more calories than females right? 2300 kcal is quite normal for a male as far as I know.brimstoneSalad wrote:And I say that as somebody who tends to eat well over 2k myself, but at least I'm not burning (wasting) half of them with inordinate amounts of cardio.

Right ! That 3000 calories a day gives her the energy to 'exercise so much' thats why she doesnt tire easily. Its not bad to eat alot of calories. Eating too little calories( less than 2100) just fucks up your metabolism. Its not calories that make you gain weight but the source of the calories. Like are you getting 3000 calories from donuts or bananas ?

Re: Fruits
There's no reason for it. We need only a moderate amount of exercise to be healthy. Exercising as much as she does is liable to be bad.Fuzzy wrote: Right ! That 3000 calories a day gives her the energy to 'exercise so much' thats why she doesnt tire easily.
It's bad for the environment, and it's ultimately bad for your health: eating too many calories and burning them off is like burning a candle at both ends. To put it very simply, most animals only get so many heartbeats before they die, and she's likely accelerating the process (including oxidative stress from just living, digesting, and burning calories).Fuzzy wrote: Its not bad to eat alot of calories.
That's false. It's one of the the core pseudoscience claims her HCLF lies are founded on.Fuzzy wrote:Eating too little calories( less than 2100) just fucks up your metabolism.
There's nothing harmful to calorie restriction, this is a fiction of "metabolic damage" that she has invented.
When you eat fewer calories, you just have to eat more nutritious foods like beans and veggies, and limit low-nutrition foods like rice and fruit. Incidentally, beans are also one of the most environmentally friendly crops there are.
False, it's calories in vs. calories out. Thermodynamics.Fuzzy wrote:Its not calories that make you gain weight but the source of the calories.
Same thing if you burn the calories. They of course have different implications on overall health, but you can be slim while eating nothing but doughnuts or candy bars.Fuzzy wrote:Like are you getting 3000 calories from donuts or bananas ?
Unnatural Vegan made a good video on "the fat you eat is the fat you wear" myth:

Have you got any references? If I google 'fruit footprint' the first result is ' bananas are strong candidates for the ultimate low-carbon food'.
