Hi all!

Post by cufflink »

Glad to have discovered this forum, which I did after being blown away by The Vegan Atheist's videos on YouTube.

I'm an almost-lifetime atheist (since I was 15; I turn 70 this year) and a baby vegan—three months and counting. Better late than never, right? I hope to learn a lot here and, to appropriate a term from the religionists' lexicon, "fellowship" with like-minded individuals.

Draws to the Dawn of Nothing--Oh, make haste!

Hi Cufflink, great to meet you.

I'm glad you've joined the forum.
There are a few discussions going on about veganism, and philosophy so far. It's all still pretty new here.

We haven't had a lot of theists come in to argue with yet, but I'm sure we will as the forum grows.

Hi Brim, great to meet you too.

Judging from my experience on another atheist forum, discussions with theists are rarely fruitful. People's minds are never changed, and the conversations quickly descend into invective, with accusations of mindlessness on one side and threats of hell on the other. Maybe it'll be different here. I hope so! :)

We can give it the old college try.

Hey, I noticed your Durian avatar!

Did you see my Durian thread?

I'd love to read about your experiences with the king of fruits.
What made you choose it as an avatar?

Great to discover another durian lover! I've contributed to your thread with some info about my development as a durian devotee. As for why I chose it as my avatar, well . . . Durian is formidable on the outside but soft, creamy, and delicious on the inside. And hey, it is, as you say, the King of Fruits. :D

Its funny, until a few days ago until another forum member started a topic on Durian fruit, i don't think I've heard it mentioned more than a couple of times. Now I see the fruit everywhere and everyone seems to be talking about it. Funny how things like that happen.
