Is it wrong to own a pet? And is it wrong to feed it a plant-based diet?
Like I've said earlier, I think it's particularly unethical to keep cats as pets. It causes great deal of suffering. Cats have a psychological need to kill smaller animals, and you can either make the cat suffer or make many small animals suffer even more because of the cat, or, most likely, both. And cats have vastly different nutritional needs from humans, male cats die because of bladder problems if they are fed a plant-based diet, and female cats generally survive but are very prone to illnesses if they are fed a plant-based diet. And not feeding them a plant-based diet, well, that requires animals no less sentient than a cat to be killed for that.
Hey thank you! So basically you're saying it's best not to keep cats.

What about dogs?

Thanks,

Well, personally, I hate dogs, but it's not as wrong to keep them as pets as it is to keep cats as pets.

Thank you! It's not something I will rush into anyway as I want to make sure I can give the dog the quality of life it deserves.

That depends on how the dog was acquired.
How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

Buying a dog is immoral as it encourages further breeding.

Adopting a suffering dog (from the streets or from a shelter) is commendable, particularly when the dog is put on a vegan diet.

Okay, I see! I always recommend adopting a shelter animal. Those animals have probably had never felt love before.

So, @Red, what do you think about @Kaz1983's claim that rabbits can and do love their owners?

Teo, how bored are you that you necro a four year old thread just to bring up a topic that I can barely fucking remember in order to pester me and ask me some dumbass question about some guy that isn't active on the forum anymore just to rope me into a debate on something you are not going to change your mind on even if we have a 20 page long debate on it?
According to Wikipedia it is possible for Rabbits to bond with their owners, so that's that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_ ... prov=sfla1
I am not going to argue this with you. Accept that conclusion or not and frankly I do not give a shit either way. End of story.

Teo, you need to find a job, or at least something useful and fulfilling to fill your time with. Constantly trying to bait arguments on a largely inactive forum isn't going to give you purpose and meaning.
