Probably, but I'm not really interested in losing my head.

Edit: No, she will never let me ride a motorcycle (she knew two people who died in accidents, so maybe that's why? Or maybe she doesn't think I'm really all that great at driving yet).

How many miles is it from your house to the Uni?

What about living within walking distance of the Uni? Shared kitchen and bathroom - own bedroom - could be similar costs to having a car with the added benefit of making new friends?

I did see your comment not planning on dorming, I guess I'm challenging that a bit.

What say you?
You'll have to decide how you want to balance safety vs resource use (gas mileage, etc). Even small cars with "5 star" crush test ratings get squashed by larger cars when there is an accident. I wouldn't drive anything smaller than a large sedan (e.g., Honda Accord).
I'm here to exploit you schmucks into demonstrating the blatant anti-intellectualism in the vegan community and the reality of veganism. But I can do that with any user name.

That is true, though there might be a way to balance it out.

BTW I'm not going to get a minicooper anymore, I have heard those things are maintenance nightmares.

Hey so I'm thinking of possibly investing in an electric car in the future now. I won't get it for my first car, but in the future I'd be willing to get a Tesla (might get a Model S). After doing a little research, most of the energy I get is from natural gas (emits some, but is the cleanest of the fossil fuels), and Hydro energy (which has its problems, but still clean). Would this be a good environmental investment?

Buy used, just has more limited range which is probably not a big deal for a short commute.
Also, anything but Tesla. Get a mainstream brand. Something like a used Nissan LEAF.

Why not a Tesla? The price? Or is it because Elon Musk posts the dankest of memes?

It's not a good value for the price, no. Musk doesn't help but that's unrelated.
