I'd add in Plant Eats under lifestyle (he has over 8,000 subs). His channel is centered around veganism, yoga, food etc.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpfkq3uR963-bQPLWoWNDGQ/featured

He's got a good range of video topics, and most of them are commentary-style, where he discusses pressing issues within the vegan community. He refers to them "Voice of Reason" videos.

I actually enjoy his muckbang/cooking videos the most. Mostly because it's great not seeing an orthorexic, overly health-obsessed vegan talk about food. However, he doesn't quite have enough food-related videos to consider him a health/nutrition channel, so I'd add him under lifestyle.

In the New to Veganism Section, where is Bite Size Vegan?

She has far more subscribers than James Aspey and "So You're Dating a Vegan" combined. And although she's no longer active on YouTube, has an extensive back-catalogue of videos with valuable info to new vegans and the vegan-curious.

Not sure how appealing Mic would be to non health conscious vegans.

Looks great btw :)

Or health conscious vegans who aren't fond of his dogmatic opposition to any and all oil, and the intellectual dishonesty he engages in to obfuscate the truth that not all oils are the same.

I would swap Mic out for Healthy Crazy Cool. He's not perfect, but I think he falls on the good side and he has a lot of health videos already and some credentials (even if not mainstream).

Good observation. This is the reason I tend to avoid food/health conscious vegan activists.

Rather than relying on expert nutrition advise and honest thorough research to advocate for the vegan lifestyle, many (though #NotAll) dietary vegans promote false/incomplete information about vegan nutrition to sway people into a specific diet that they personally find acceptable. Or they promote conspiracies about doctors and nutritionists all being funded by the dairy industry (so basically don't trust the "shill" experts). As you stated, its dishonest, but I think it's much worse than that. Quite frankly, I find it deceptive, and potentially dangerous. And maybe a little cult-like? :?

Thanks for recommending, I've never heard of that person, will check them out out for sure. I'd love to see more science-enthusiast vegans speaking rationally and honestly about vegan nutrition. I'm growing tired of the fruitarian, high carb-low fat, raw dieting dogma. It's bad activism.

I have another recommendation for the health/lifestyle category. Her channel name is "Pick Up Limes." She claims to be a dietitian, but I haven't verified her credentials. Just an ordinary person who happens to be a dietitian making videos on nutrition, traveling, minimalism, etc.

Pick Up Limes is OK, although some of her lunch idea videos, particularly the kids/school lunch ones, make me feel like she's not very realistic.

Great production value, and a ridiculously high sub count though... so that's good if she's reaching people. She has some very good videos.

Thanks for these, and I think you're right about Bite Size Vegan, so can change that. Struggling a bit to think of what other heading Plant Eats could go under in lifestyle; "Vegan Convenience" "Vegan Goal Setting" or 3 like Relationships, Parenting and Community?

With the Wiki table of contents it's easier because information on lifestyle would get dispersed into different categories. But there are a lot of educational channels doing a mix of commenting on news, law, politics, activism as well as vlogging. I wanted the library to be a little shorter on condensed categories, and the introduction page to be shorter again:

Wiki Lifestyle:

• Is it Vegan?
• Staying Vegan
• Community
• Dining Out
• Career
• Family, Friends & Partners
• Children
• Companion Animal Care
• Body Building
• Exercise
• Places to live
• Minimalism
• Zero Waste
• Freeganism
• Carbon Offset
• Pest control
• Anger management
• Recreational Drugs

Video Library (so far) - Lifestyle:

• Companion Animal Care
• Minimalism
• Zero Waste
• Freeganism

Introduction to vegan YouTube (so far) - Lifestyle:

• Gardening / Homesteading
• Minimalism / Zero Waste
• Freeganism

Like there's these I found going through list of vegan youtubers, but probs won't include in introduction chapter:

Travel
• Wild We Roam

Parenting
• Raising Vegan

Van life
• Kombi Life
• The Indie Projects

The 3 word heading "Relationships, Parenting and Community" seems fitting. But if you'd prefer condensed headings for the video library, then I'd just place him under Community.

The Vegan Atheist is an excellent recommendation. Shame he no longer produces content. :( I assume you're fine with promoting inactive channels?

Do you have Ellen DeGeneres as a challenger? She's well known for her animal rights advocacy/work. She's also co-owner of Halo, Purely For Pets, which has a line of vegan dog food.

Not a personal fan of Dr. Gregor. He seems to be a bit biased toward vegan diets (Mic's clearly influenced by his work). Of course unlike Mic, Dr. Gregor has the extensive educational background and work experience required to extrapolate on nutrition research, to a degree. Some of his work can stray a bit far from consensus, but I think he's fine.

I didn't think of it as 3 word heading, covering most generalities, kind of fitting. Probs go with that then, unless something better comes a calling.

Yeah it's a detraction, but something to think about, for diversity of channels making up top 5.

Toats, the Ellen Show by my reckoning is the most subscribed vegan channel on YouTube with over 23 million subs, can add ", Halo, Purely For Pets" channel on the end, and think has promoted them on the show too.

Okay doke, can not put him at the top when I list them, any other doctors, chefs or other you know of can recommend? UV's pretty good for talking about what you can replace in your diet with easy convenience, for better nutrition, and showing how to calculate etc.
