Marine Le-Pen set to be the next Trump / Duterte?

Post by NonZeroSum »

Widely expected to reach the second round of French elections, will the French election system work better at keeping out the far-right as it did in 2002 by an 82% majority?

Le Pen says as French president she would ban all religious symbols, including kippot –jta.org/2016/10/18/news-opinion/world/le-pen-says-as-french-president-she-would-ban-all-religious-symbols-including-kippot

Marine Le Pen has arrived in Lebanon to find out that the Christians she thought were her allies aren’t on her side at all - independent.co.uk/voices/marine-le-pen-national-front-france-far-right-lebanon-not-found-a7595131.html

Hopefully not! Let us instead wish for her to be the next Paul Nuttall and get absolutely destroyed by BENOIT HAMON while he blares L'Internationale smoking 420 blunts at once.

Well, let's hope the rest of the world's liberals can learn from Trump's victory and not be complacent.

Making predictions like this is pretty hard. I'm hoping Macron will win, he seems both popular and reasonable. He also seems te be both an environmentalist and pronuclear, which is nice because an anti-nuclear regime in france (which runs on 80% nuclear electricity) would be an environmental disaster. Le Pen does better in the polls, but polls are often unreliable and unstable.

What's so scary about Le Pen?

I view France is doomed either way. Same goes for most of Europe.

Just look at the population demographics for people under the age of 20. Then look up the statistics on the attitudes and values of the Muslim 'minority'. If this doesn't end in civil war it will be some kind of miracle that goes against all of recorded human history.

I would encourage you to stop linking to things to make your argument for you. All of us here on this forum have very limited time, and I can say at least for myself that I have no time to read/watch all your links. If you want to link to something that's fine, but summarize the points that matter.

  • She opposes nuclear and is in favor of oil and gas.
  • She wants to desintegrate the EU rather than reform it.
  • She opposes euthanasia and supports capital punishment.
  • She wants to cuddle up to Putin whilst withdrawing from NATO and all other western collaboration.

One other miracle that goes against all of recorded human history is that European countries haven't fought each other since 1945. Or the fact that you are more likely to kill yourself than to be killed by someone else. Times change.

Eastern Europe/Australia look like solid options. I'll probably end up moving to Hungary, as I know some people there

Watched like 5 mins and all he does is mock the speaker of the other video :?

Can we get the bullet-points, perhaps? :D

I don't think there's really any good argument against the prediction that Western Europe will be fully islamized within few decades, unless current trends change drastically. One could argue that the different sects and ethnicities of Muslims kinda hate each other and that they might not form some kind of united front, which is true. But that's not really a good thing. It just means we'll get caught in the cross-fire of all their tribal strifes.

What amazes me is what we've been the most advanced civilization, yet still almost managed to destroy the continent multiple times

Well, yeah, I'm sure bathtubs are a thousand times more deadly than terrorism, but such comparisons don't take into account the fact that bathtubs aren't trying to get a hold of WMD or that a civil war will create a huge non-linear spike in deaths

Also there's more to life than simply not being dead!
