Have you tried mock meats?

That health stuff didn't happen to me when I went vegan. I think you should see a doctor or dietitian.

Do they actually think you have an eating disorder? O_O
Ask them to buy you vegan ice cream to prove you don't.

Oh, great! :D

Yeah, you probably should.

You've been missing about! :P
Coconut is my favorite texture, but I think it's bad for the environment.
Cashew is really good too, and so is rice, IMO. I think soy is less creamy, but that might've just been the brand I tried. I don't really remember what almond is like.

I'm guessing you're in the UK; the Quorn vegan stuff isn't available most other places yet (for some reason they put egg in it in most of the ones in the states, so does Morningstar farms). Tofu is a great option anywhere, though.
You can learn how to fry or bake tofu from youtube videos, always get the firmest you can find since that's lower in water and higher in protein.
Vegan ice cream isn't widely available in the UK, IIRC.

Make sure to eat a lot of beans, and eat all of the mock meats you want. I'm not sure what brands are available there. "Beyond meat" may be, and that's a good brand with really dense protein rich products. In the states, there's also Kroger/Fred Meyer which has "simple truth" vegan meatless items, which are probably the best value.

You have to avoid eating too many carbohydrates, since carbs are low in nutrients. That means limiting fruit and grain, or added sugar. Whole grains should be a smaller part of your plate compared to protein. I always recommend avoiding rice, since it's one of the lowest nutrient foods (whole wheat is much healthier than rice, as are oats and most other grains).

Mainly focus on green veggies (like broccoli) and protein (like beans and mock meats) for the bulk of your meals, and be sure to eat lots of good fats like nuts and seeds (and a little rapeseed oil /canola oil is good). Eat a carrot or two every day for vitamin A.

Have you used cronometer?

Your arteries probably more so (although not as bad as palm).
Keep an eye on saturated fat content. It's better than dairy based stuff, but something to avoid or eat only rarely.
Also keep an eye on the sugar content of these ice creams.

I can't stand cashew or rice based stuff (which is based on rice syrup).

I'd say stick with soy or almond. Almond tends to be the best received all around, though.
I think So Delicious soymilk based ice creams are good.

Hahaha, I don't have them regularly (I wish). The last time was when visiting my grandparents a few months ago, so that's not an issue.

Hm, interesting. Worth a shot to try, though.

The soy I tried almost had a sorbet texture, and I wasn't really into it (I've had really good strawberry sorbet though; I just only like that texture with the fruity taste).

Yeah, people have different tastes, so experiment! It can't hurt to try different types of vegan ice-cream.

I went to a Whole Foods once (well, twice, but in the same day), and they were giving out free samples of coffee flavored vegan ice-cream with chocolate chips (without palm oil, according to the woman). It was really great, but I can't remember the name of the brand, and what type it was...

When I get meat cravings I usually do go to mock meat like gardeins faux fish fillets. Knocks those cravings right out. Eating anything at all though--or even drinking a glass of water--sometimes helps with cravings.

Let us know what sorts of things you're eating daily. Consider tracking your calories too to make sure you're eating enough. Beans and grains are great calorie dense vegan foods. Pasta is good too for extra calories. If your weight is becoming too low focus on macro more so than micro nutrients. Exercise too if you don't already to maintain a good body composition. Make sure you're taking b12 too just to be safe.

I lost some weight initially becoming vegan. I've actually been everything from super skinny to skinny fat to fit on a vegan diet so being vegan doesn't have to mean being a skeletor.

I have a slight occasional eye twitch too, but my mother has the same thing so I doubt it has to do with diet.
