I call this one Treason. Convicted of treason if I had free'd -;um these animals us humans keep locked up because we want to eat them. What a selfish reason why not see how they die before you to take your first bite? Do you believe in life after death or are afraid to cry, scared you will empathize? If you don't want to see it then why do you eat it? Disassociate yourself so you won't feel it. The pain they go through and you think you need it. Chewing their flesh up only to wash it down with a white glass full of puss. Then you want to complain when a vegan makes a fuss pointing out to you " Hey don't you think you are eating too much?". Eating their flesh to the bone wearing their skin because you are cold, hearted that is. What a life you live and you bow down your head say grace, give thanks and ask Jesus to forgive because; you know what you just ate on your plate is a sin. Now that being is within you becoming a part of you, clogging the heart in you, robbing the energy from you, starving you . The cycle repeats with each item you choose to eat. Give up your ways, make a change, stand up for the innocent lives being taken away. Say you will no longer partake in the harming of other sentient beings. Realize we are all from planet Earth, "What are we?" you may ask me? I say "We are all Earthlings.". Watch Earthlings. http://earthlings.com/?page_id=32. Written by Catherine L.

BABES TO THE SLAUGHTER

Why is it human grownups think their own young folk should never
Be distressed by seeing things that are upsetting, cruel or gory?
For instance they would never show them pictures of the slaughter
Of the ones they eat for dinner, yet it's quite a different story

When it comes to other young ones who don't happen to be human,
But are just as much in need of loving tenderness and care,
Folk are happy to distress them, not just simply with a picture
Of the slaughterhouse so brutal, but by putting them in there.

The pig is but a youngster when he's whisked away and murdered
And as sensitive and frightened as a human son or daughter,
And the six week baby chicken is as scared as any toddler
When she's strung up by her ankles and conveyed to brutal slaughter,

So it's surely inconsistent to show such consideration
For the feelings of the little ones we think of as our own,
Yet to treat with cold indifference all these 'other mothers' children
Who are equally deserving and themselves are barely grown.

Wait, you wrote the first one?

Oh, never mind.

I haven't written any cool poems, though.
Maybe I should try?

That crossed my mind for a second, but then I was like, "She would probably just say it was her."
Damnit. ;)

I thought posting "Written by Catherine L." would make that clear but then again I don't think anyone here really knew my first name! :P

Inspire yourself to write something you feel passionate about.
My poetry is usually dark and depressing it just always has been, now that I am vegan I can take all those dark thoughts and write them in a way I feel will open other peoples eyes about real cruelty of the dairy/meat/research industries...
