5000 years old vegan tribe

Post by thebestofenergy »

I came accross this article
http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/tod ... 204749.ece

The tribe is about 1000 people that live on Himalaya, and they've been vegan for 5000 years
The few thousand Brok-pa Aryans have over 5,000 years lived in these hostile terrain at 15,000 ft altitude, subsisting on a vegan diet.
It's incredible how old this tribe is, being so small, and it's also fascinating that they've been vegan since the early Bronze Age.
For evil to prevail, good people must stand aside and do nothing.

But vegan diets are unhealthy!

In all seriousness, it is amazing that the tribe has survived for that long and with a vegan diet!

Just came across this in sorting through threads, bizarre article, and really doubt the claim that all the villages are vegan after other bullshit in the article. Talking about an isolated village in India like they're descended from Germany, Aryan just means decedents from Iran at the time of the Indus valley civilisation expanded and a 'holy' cast system was regimented, the idea people are happy about a village that doesn't approve of anyone with darker skin tones entering is disturbed. If they have bought into that ideology they must also think drinking the milk of a cow is sacred, unless they have just found a pretty much uncontacted tribe in which case there are bound to be subsistence hunting going on they're not documenting.
