Do we have daily nutritional requirements?
A thorough Google search did not help in finding the answer to this question. To clarify, do we have 24 hour nutrition needs or are the "daily requirements" just the average for a longer time period? For example, if my daily protein requirement is 50 g per day, would it be ok to have 0 g on Monday, 0 g on Tuesday, 0 g on Wednesday, and 200 g on Thursday? Grateful if someone knows the answer to this.

Re: Do we have daily nutritional requirements?
There's a circulating pool of amino acids in your serum, so you don't have daily requirements. Eating all of your protein on one day could be an issue with respect to absorption, though.
The more spread out something is, the easier it is to absorb. Look at B-12 recommendations, for example; a regular daily amount is much smaller (like a tenth or so the amount) as a twice a week amount to get the same amount in your body.
So, while you don't have daily requirements for anything but perhaps water and soluble ions to prevent depletion of those with the water (there may be other exceptions for things that can become imbalanced too, like potassium vs. sodium), if you try to cram in many hundred percent of something at once you may get less than you expected and become deficient for that reason.
If you skip several days, you may need a week or so to build back up.
