Hi all. The more research and reading I do, the more I want to convince everyone in the world to eat a whole foods plant based diet, or at least to eat a vegan diet. The thing is, I feel this in the abstract, but I never try to talk to or convince the people I actually know; I guess I'm scared of confrontation. Not that one has to be belligerent and argumentative, but taking the stance that "yes, I think you should change your diet, I think I know more about this and have had better thoughts about it than you" is a strong position, no matter how you present it.
So two questions --
1) what are actions one can take and/or organizations one can donate to in order to advance the cause without having to take your relationships with friends and family into your hands?
2) what are constructive ways to raise consciousness on the issue WITHIN your own circle of family and friends?
Looking forward to your thoughts and discussion!
Daniel

Great questions Daniel!
1. Check out Animal Charity Evaluators for effective charities to donate to:
https://animalcharityevaluators.org/
2. Check out Street Epistemology, for learning how to start and have productive conversations with family and friends (or anybody):
https://streetepistemology.com/

This works for Atheism, Veganism, anything. It's non-offensive, the main thing is that you ask questions rather than trying to argue facts.
I only recommend arguing for Atheism if the person presents his or her religion as a reason not to go vegan, but try to see if the religion encourages compassion to other sentient beings first (it's the path of least resistance).
