Killing Boars?

Post by 5onic »

My friend said that boars cause high property damage, hurts alot of people and other issues. I cannot find anything revolving the issues via google.

So he supports killing animals that are a huge threat.

Are wild boars really that bad?

What do you think?

Boars can be pretty destructive, and dangerous to humans, I'd tend to look for and trust expert sources on this.

Are they killing them to eradicate them, or to control the population? Are people eating them (this could be conflict of interest)?

I caught only part of a documentary about this issue. They were using specialized bait stations to poison the boars, designed in such a way to only activate when it detected boar noises, so as to not kill any other animals. There's some related info here- (can't find the one I saw ) http://www.scientificamerican.com/artic ... e-stopped/
