when i'm talking to people and they one way or another find out i'm vegan sometimes they say "but.. bacon" or "i love bacon too much" or just "bacon" and it is really annoying... no matter what you say they just "bacon"
its like the one thing that gets to me though when they say that i'm not very reactive.
what are your wittiest comebacks?

Re: That stupid "bacon" response
Well, 'bacon' used to be 'censored' to *penis* on here, and that led to some funny posts... ;D
That doesn't really translate to anything off this forum, though.

Re: That stupid "bacon" response
I just say that I've never had bacon, because I never have since I seem to get very itchy after eating pork, and they look at me like I'm an alien and say I'm missing out.

Re: That stupid "bacon" response
"That may be so, but personally I don't love cancer" is one possible reply.
Or "I love vegan bacon, it's delicious too, and doesn't cause cancer."
Or you can leave out the bit about cancer, if you think that might cause offense (as if they aren't being offensive themselves).

Since that response is almost always delivered with derision and the person is just trying to get an emotional response out of you, sometimes I just quip back. "So you like meat in your mouth, huh?" - it's surprisingly effective on occasion.

Re: That stupid "bacon" response
I'm probably one of the 4 people on the planet who never liked bacon.
Anyway, my friend is said that he would go vegan and here when he didn't (guess who it was), I asked him 'bout it, and he just said "Because bacon". I see that as a form of laziness, since I guess taste and self-satisfaction prevail over morality and disease reduction.
