Nice in theory, but terrible idea in practice. When you're dealing with shared living and limited resources, you have to be discerning about who you let in, in terms of personality, mental health, ideological compatibility, as well as competence and motivation. The community will be always open to everyone
This is possible if you have a strict hierarchy and strong standards for who you let into the community. Given the first point, this just makes it worse. The community will share food, tools and resources for free
Unfortunately, also a terrible idea. Communities succeed or fail based on competent leadership, and often that means making the tough decisions that not everybody agrees with. Meritocracy works, blind democracy (or even worse, consensus) doesn't -- particularly if the community is open and lets anybody in.Everyone in the community is equal, there is no hierarchy and everyone contributes in the decision making
