Fruits
Is it healthy to only eat fruits? I heard a lot about it and I was wondering if it's good I feel like I could eat fruits only all the time because I like it.

Re: Fruits
Without any knowledge regarding this, I would say that it depends on the type of fruit that you're eating.

No. You should be eating mainly beans, green veggies (like broccoli, kale, collards), and whole grains like whole wheat, oats, etc.
Fruits are too sweet, and should be considered a snack or dessert, and not a meal. If you only ate sweet fruit, you would gain massive amounts of weight, and become malnourished.
Sweet fruit is a treat, and has some vitamins in it (like vitamin C), but it's not substantial as food since it lacks most essential macronutrients and minerals.

Re: Fruits
I'm really confused about vegan youtubers who drink 10-banana smoothies for breakfast and then continue to eat large amounts of white rice, potatoes and fruits throughtout the day.. why are they still so lean? Do they do a shitload of exercise behind the scenes? More specifically:brimstoneSalad wrote:If you only ate sweet fruit, you would gain massive amounts of weight, and become malnourished.

I don't know much about these specific people.knot wrote:why are they still so lean? Do they do a shitload of exercise behind the scenes? More specifically:
But yes, for the ones who eat 3,000+ calories, they burn somewhere on the order of 1,000 - 2,000 calories a day by biking, etc.
Others are eating 2,000 or fewer calories, and are in a state of chronic malnourishment. Many of these girls are malnourished to the point they are no longer menstruating, for example, and that's considered normal in these circles as I understand.
I'll ask Unnatural Vegan to elaborate, she knows a lot more about these youtubers than I do.

Re: Fruits
Those guys all eat cooked food (at least at night). Like raw til 4 stuff. So they may not be eating that many calories.
Freelee and Durianrider are big on 3k calories, and they ride their bikes everywhere. Unnatural Vegan also thinks it may be an absorption thing -- where they just aren't absorbing the uncooked fruit calories.
There may also be a bias going on to where they are ignoring small amounts of exercise that don't fit into their narratives, but that nonetheless add up.

Re: Fruits
Fully raw is also not great, they wind up having nutritional problems because of poor absorption of nutrients in uncooked foods.

Yes. I think it's even fair to consider eating too many raw foods to be wasteful.garrethdsouza wrote:Fully raw is also not great, they wind up having nutritional problems because of poor absorption of nutrients in uncooked foods.

So even raw food. I didn't know that but it's not a problem for me since I like cooked food most of the time.
