What do I feed the animals in my house?
I have a cat here i my house. Before I begin I'd like to let readers know that I do not own him for he was here with other cats and the other cats left. I do not support ownership of another sentient in such manners as are most pets today. I allowed the cats to leave for I never enclosed them except for when I'd close my door to sleep at night. This cat here has decided not to leave and has therefore, decided to stay and live here thus far. Now I did research on what cats need to eat. Cats require Vitamin D3 (a vitamin only obtainable by consuming another sentient). Therefore, a vegetarian/vegan diet for the cat isn't healthy and has been proven multiple times by other pet owners. I'm a vegan and I don't support buying animal products that brought unnecessary suffering to another sentient yet, I have to buy the cat his food since he spends his time inside with me and is dependent on me to feed him. Does this make me unethical or is this reasonably justifiable? I'd like to know your opinions. Thank you.

Hi Jose,
You can feed your cat freegan. Waste or expired meats, which humans can't eat but cats still can. As long as you don't pay for them (get them for free, or from the trash) it doesn't support animal cruelty.
There are vegan cat foods you can buy, but they are not very good. So, you should probably feed your cat about half freegan meat, and half vegan cat food.
Be sure to read this FAQ: http://www.vegancats.com/veganfaq.php
This brand is fairly popular and easy to use: http://www.vegepet.com/vegetarian_cats.html
Here are an assortment of brands: http://store.vegancats.com/vegan-cat-food-c1.aspx
If your cat doesn't like one, he may like another.
