Why did everybody on this forum choose their usernames?

Post by NonZeroSum »

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wrote: Mon Jun 05, 2017 2:24 am Here's a query: Why did everybody on this forum choose their usernames? I have never really understood any of them!
I reject my posts being moved under the header 'I am not Dizzy,' I'd like it corrected.

If the topic was to be split off it should have been at the post above with the corrisponding title, I explained my username as Zee asked then asked them theirs following on from speculation on a previous thread:

True, I just saw it as a regression into further absurdity from the 'zz' in Dizzy like the post war anti-art movement 'dada'.
Interesting.
That being said, I won't be following up any discussion with someone I believe uses slander.

You're welcome to re-post your post in the thread, but since that was what Zzzz was replying to it was removed to the new topic for context.

I'd rather not be involved in this kind of discussions, NonZeroSum. I don't like drama.

As PsYcHo said in the other thread, we all know that Zzzz is Dizzy and nobody cares. Moreover, as I said when you brought up those private conversations between Blackwell and Amp, I don't think it's nice to dig into other people's personal life. Maybe you weren't trying to be a bully and maybe Zzzz doesn't give a damn - I really don't know - , but it's not the first time you've mentioned their past.

As for your discussion with Brimstone, I think that Brimstone could have tried to be more cautious when exposing the inherent racism of intersectionality. They could have stressed since the beginning that they were talking about the idea, not about you. 'Racist' is a strong word. They could have said something along the lines of " maybe you don't realize it, but intersectionality is based on a racist ideology, and I'll show you why". You are vegan, a member of the forum and you have more than 300 posts under your belt - I think it's safe to assume that you are interested in ethics.

That being said, as an anarchist and someone interested in community building maybe you should try to work a bit on your social skills. You've got a sensitive ego (you're not alone here), NonZeroSum. You jumped at my throat for a silly reason in the past, and you have done the same with Brimstone now. And this is not even real life.

This is intended to be constructive criticism, by the way, and I hope it'll be read as such.

Senior member high five! Aha :D

Not sure the relevance of anarchist, in as much as everyone should strive for better communication I agree with you totally, maybe you could expand on what you think makes for good community building in the thread I created on the subject:

Thank you Darl, for articulating this so well.

Yes. He said things I saw as racist, I was offended, and I was more harsh with him than I should have been. Best to cool down before posting and not say anything in agitation.
I apologized for that multiple times, but for whatever reason he won't accept my apology.

I'm happy to forgive him if he apologizes for overreacting. And even if he doesn't apologize; I can just let bygones be bygones and he doesn't even need to put himself out to swallow his ego on this. All he has to do is cool off.
