More Labels for Religous Affiliation
Should users be able to identify with more specific labels than the ones provided or are the current ones sufficient as they encompass many of these more specific terms?

I don't think I put this in the right category and am not exactly sure how to move it to another. I apologize for the misplacement.

Re: More Labels for Religous Affiliation
What labels would you suggest? Would it be useful to add sub-labels? For example:
Religion: Atheist
Sub: Agnostic
But this raises the question about what is considered sub-label.

I remember that awhile ago some people were saying that the atheist label under the religion category should be: Atheist (none)
I think that's a good idea.

Re: More Labels for Religous Affiliation
If that is to emphasize that Atheism is not a religion, I agree. I don't want others to perceive me as having Atheism as my "religion". I do not believe. Instead, I lack belief, because I think the claim that god exists has not been sufficiently proven.EquALLity wrote:I remember that awhile ago some people were saying that the atheist label under the religion category should be: Atheist (none)

Re: More Labels for Religous Affiliation

Deists aren't religious either, so maybe we should have:
'Atheist (none)'
'Deist (none)'
'Atheist (none)'
'Deist (none)'

Re: More Labels for Religous Affiliation
This seems rhetorical, but I think a reasonable definition would be a system of belief in something supernatural (and therefore involving faith), especially with a supreme being.brimstoneSalad wrote:What's a religion?

Re: More Labels for Religous Affiliation
When it comes to subs, a Shia or a Sunni can still agree on Muslim, just as a Catholic or a Protestant can agree on Christian. I identify more closely with Atheist than any religion, yet I don't feel as an Agnostic that I am an Atheist. (Lotta A's in that last line!)
