China is notorious in terms of animal welfare, if that is what you are referring to. Dogs and cats are boiled alive. Recently there was an article of a guy cutting off his camel's hump to gain sympathy for people to donate to him. Completely inhumane. It has to be stopped.

I think he meant ethnic Chinese?

Like in the west somebody might say they're Irish, even if they're third generation American.
