Nice to meet you! Some time ago, I guess 2 years now. They really changed my skin and I think this is how I started to think about vegan food too.

Welcome Ann,

What do you think about the sustainability issue with organic foods? With the world population quickly approaching 10 billion people, how can we expect to feed everyone if a large percentage of people are eating organic?

Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

Well.. I'm not a specialist here... world is overcrowd already in my opinion and it's only getting worse. And today we have problem to feed everyone. However if we take care of our planet, it will produce fruits and veggies we need. Large percentage of people are eating meat too and do you think one day we may kill all the animals to feed the world?

Hi Ann!

Lower energy is usually an issue of not enough calories, since many vegan foods are lower in calories. It's good for weight loss, but not so good for an active lifestyle. But it's easy to fix by enjoying more nuts and healthy fat containing foods.
Sometimes protein is also an issue, but that's easy to fix by incorporating some beans. What's your typical day of eating look like? Maybe we can give specific advice.

In a sense, yes: at least, almost all of the wild animals.
Each "food" requires a certain amount of land. Meat requires the most land, and if the world keeps eating this much we'll have to cut down all of the rest of the forests to feed people. After meat, organic food also requires a lot of land (one reason is because it uses animal feces and blood/bones/etc as fertilizer, another is because of all of the weeds that grow and compete with the food crops). The lowest land requirement is conventional plant food. That means we can leave more forest to the wild and stop cutting down more land to feed people... in fact, if we all went vegan and ate conventional food, we could let a lot of land return to forest.

Thank you for help! Ok, so I am fine after breakfast. Usually I eat one hour after waking up. I love pancakes and smoothie. Problem usually is in late afternoon. I'm trying to cook something with bean and lentils as I read it's rich in protein. Still, sometimes I feel really down and dizzy, Maybe I just need to get use to it... I'm thinking about protein powder too.

If you eat beans and lentils you will get more than enough protein. The fatigue and dizziness could indicate a micronutrient deficiency. Weigh all your food for a few days and input the data at cronometer.com. It will tell you if you are lacking something.

Hi Ann,

Since becoming Vegan almost 2 years ago i have gone through a number of phases adjusting to this new way of life.

I know what you mean very well and i have also been observing myself in the quest to better understand the effects that changing food habits has had on my body.

Basically it is protein intake that changes most when becoming vegan. In my case it made me increase carb intake. I was always feeling tired and hungry. But by increasing plant protein intake things got better!

I will try to find links with good information about this issue to share ASAP! People who make the decision to become vegan deserve all the help and encouragement!
