Vegan in London UK

Good Morning

I am vegan dog-mother to Terry, animal rights activist, music and book lover, recovering alcoholic, lover of friends, family and the adventure of life.

I have been vegan for 6 years and Terry, my Yorkie Russell is a rescue, is almost 10 years old and has been with me since he was about a year-old. He has been on the BARF (bones and raw food) diet for approx 8 years. I have been reluctant to switch him to a vegan diet and am only now trying it out. He is very resistant. Any tips?

Nice to be here amongst like-minded people.

Trish

Hey Trish! Good job on kicking alcohol.
Good to see that you're an activist.
What prompted you to go vegan?

Welcome Trish!

Terry might not like any of the existing kibble, so you may have to make food to his taste using a supplement mix (like this: http://store.vegancats.com/vegedog-mix-by-hoana-p17.aspx )

A gradual transition will likely be most successful.

A vegan diet can have a lot of advantages. You may have read these already:

Once you've transitioned Terry, you may be able to switch partially to a vegan kibble, I'd just stay away from the "Evolution" brand, which is disreputable. There are a number of mainstream brands that provide well formulated vegan kibble.

Hi Trish, welcome!
Do you have any recommendations for a couple of nice vegan places to go out to while in London? That'd be helpful since there are too many options to choose from (not that I'm complaining).
