Glad to be part of this online community!
I'm HarvesterofSorrow and as of today I am 2 weeks meat and dairy free!
It has been a bit rough making the change for me but I can honestly say I feel much better health wise and have found a new motive in my life. I am doing what some YouTube vegans have recommended to do and that is seek friends and people that are in the same boat as you so here I am. I hope I can learn as well as gain support from fellow vegans and also atheists. I also love debating and learning new things so expect me to get involved in the forum often. I will try to do it in the most respectful ways possible. Here's some likes and dislikes about myself and feel free to comment:
Likes: Heavy Metal and Hard Rock, NFL, Mustangs! (the car, but horses are cool too), Evolutionary Biology is my planned major, love authors such as Hitchens, Dawkins, Hawking and Krauss.
Dislikes: generalizations, close-mindedness, lack of empathy and (or) compassion, stubborn ignorance and F***ing spiders!

Welcome to the forum!
What made you go vegan?
How did you become atheist?

For evil to prevail, good people must stand aside and do nothing.

Welcome Harvester,
Congrats on kicking the meat and dairy!
What do you like to debate about? Do you do a lot of debating with theists?

Re: Glad to be part of this online community!
To bestofenergy: I was just going through Facebook one night and found a video titled "think twice about that bacοn". Watched it and for a moment though it was an isolated case of abuse until I started looking into it a bit more. And to think I called myself an animal lover. So right there and then I just made the choice, it really was an overnight thing for me.
To answer your second question, I started thinking more about my beliefs when I was 15 (now 20 years old). I really liked 'Dragon Ball Z' and my god mother always said it was satanic. She told me to start reading the bible. I read most of it and well... here I am!

To brimstone: I like to debate obviously about veganism and non-veganism, atheism and theism but I also like to look at other aspects of our lives and the lives of the people around us. Things like LGBT rights, animal rights (which is also a big issue of veganism) and women equality. Not big on politics though. I'll debate on why Metallica is the best band to ever exist also ;D
