Re: Fish
Someone who only eats fish and no other meat is a Pescetarian.
So you are saying that you are a Pescetarian now? And you want information on why it is wrong to consume fish.
Well for me it is because I have something that testes and has the same texture as fish but is vegan. https://gardein.com/products/golden-fishless-filet/
I have found a some articles about catch and release and how they do or don't feel pain when the hook goes into them. I found a 50% that said they don't feel pain. Stating that the wiggling of the fish is an unconscious response to danger while the other 50% say they do feel pain.
Even if the meat industry found some way of "Humanly" killing animals I still would not eat them. If they have the will to live or the want to live who are we to take that away and yell at people who get abortions. (I am not saying that you do or don't)

I am not a pescetarian. I am a person to eat meat, but I'm taking a temporary vegan diet until you figure out what is right. I wanted to know whether it is inhumane for eating fish. According to the word checker, pescetarian, when you use the wrong spell, not a proletarian meaning, what, however? Many of the tank.

Re: Fish
Fish frequently suffocate or are crushed, which is an unpleasant way to go (even if they don't experience pain the same way we do, they do experience panic and unpleasant stimuli of other kinds), but regardless of that because they are sentient beings, it's better not to kill them if we can avoid it.
Another issue many consider is the harm to the environment, and bycatch, in fishing.

I once went to the mountains with my family, and they decided to get some fish there. I went with my father and i saw an aquarium (fresh fish)
he asked a lady there to ”clean” them outside and inside...she did her job and put them into a bag.....it was horrible...since even if they were cleaned and cut...they were still moving in the bag on the road back....it lasted more than half an hour and i was thinking ”what we would feel if someone would ”clean” us from our skin and to be without it for an half an hour...that and without some organs...
We never ate it after... only the foreigner that were also guest there.

Re: Fish
Well those articles were not saying 'They don't feel pain so they don't react'. They are saying that "Fish do not feel pain the way humans do.". Meaning that yes fish know when their skin is being cut off but to them their pain is just a sense of something wrong. "Unlike humans fish do not possess a neocortex, which is the first indicator of doubt regarding the pain awareness of fish." But, this same article said that "However, this methodology does not prove verifiably whether the reaction was due to a conscious sensation of pain or an unconscious impulse perception by means of nociception, or a combination of the two." Now I cannot say whether or not they do feel pain or not since the articles seam to be quite even with dos and don'ts. I just wanted to clarify that the fish you saw moving with its skin missing may have been in an unconscious impulse.

Now try to think about it when they are taken out of water and left this way, comparing to a human under water that does not have breath._Doc wrote:Now I cannot say whether or not they do feel pain or not since the articles seam to be quite even with dos and don'ts. Re: Fish
Well once again it wiggling due to not being able to breath maybe an unconscious impulse. I would agree that "Seeing is believing" but, for me I only have articles and videos. I know my dog can feel pain since someone (not going to give any names) strangled my dog and after I stop that person and comforted my dog I saw him crying. With fish I have not seen the same method. Yes I understand fish would have no point in crying but, when there are articles that half say it is on impulse and the other half says conscious pain I have a hard time deciding. All I know from my experience is fish wiggle when there is no air to attempt to get back to the water. But, that is it. I cannot say it is due to pain anymore because there are evidence for both cases. I am mainly trying to imply that I just don't know the true answer. Also, in no way am I saying "Go ahead stick that fish with a hook!".Unknownfromheaven wrote:Now try to think about it when they are taken out of water and left this way, comparing to a human under water that does not have breath._Doc wrote:Now I cannot say whether or not they do feel pain or not since the articles seam to be quite even with dos and don'ts. Re: Fish
Humans wiggle around when they're being water boarded. They don't exactly make a conscious decision to do so, it's reflex from the panic; that doesn't mean it's not an unpleasant experience.

Re: Fish
Well are fish humans? Just because we know it as an unpleasant experience the fish may not experience it the same way. Now I didn't see them talking about other emotions just the main focus was on the fact of them feeling or not feeling pain.brimstoneSalad wrote:Humans wiggle around when they're being water boarded.
