I think you may be mistaking feminism with something else.
Feminism means equal opportunites for women, nothing more.
I'm talking about these feminists: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sq6pWIG5jA
I'm not checking the link as there are a few women that pervert the word 'feminist' to mean something different. Let me explain.
If you believe women have the right to vote, you are a feminist. If you believe that women have the right to be free from violence and discrimination, then you are a feminist. It's pretty simple. Advocating for women to rule the world is NOT feminism.
"Do you believe in equal rights for women? Then you're a feminist, feminism advocates for equal rights for women." I highly disregard myself as a feminist and rather call myself an egalitarian.

On the other hand, do you consider yourself a Nazi? You're vegan, so I assume you support animal rights. The Nazis had laws against animal cruelty. http://www.worldfuturefund.org/wffmaste ... rights.htm

Perhaps you should see a TIME article here http://time.com/3837530/un-report-women ... -equality/ and read it. "Equal opportunity is not enough to ensure gender equality, according to a groundbreaking new report from U.N. Women. Instead, governments must commit to social policies that treat women differently in order to help them achieve economic parity with men." These people are literally advocating for females to be treated better than men; they want men and women to be equal at the finish line rather than the starting line. This is not about equal opportunity, but giving women special treatment. These people have no support from me, and you can label me with as many buzzwords as possible.

That doesn't mean there is equality in a society. It's attitudes that matter. There are many ways to get around legal issues in order to discriminate against women.
You have provided no evidence to suggest that there are ways to get around the legal system to discriminate against women. Until you provide demonstrable, reliable evidence, I have no reason to believe that what you're saying is true.

As for "attitudes," what do you mean? Are you saying that people view women as lower than men? Can you prove it?

You don't think there is sexism in porn??!!

Most modern straight porn is very sexist. It focuses primarily on the mans pleasure. and the woman is almost always in a submissive position. I won't even describe the kind of mainstream activities that are now deemed as 'normal' or 'mainstream' porn. These kind of videos used to be regarded as hardcore.
It's having a very negative effect on teenage girls and their boyfriends who want to recreate these acts even though they may be uncomfortable and even painful for the girls.
As previously stated, there's no problem with having porn that panders to a certain audience. You could search up "woman dominating man" in Google and you'll get results. Since porn stars get paid and the people watching it get pleasure, what is the problem?

"It's having a very negative effect on teenage girls and their boyfriends who want to recreate these acts even though they may be uncomfortable and even painful for the girls." At this point, I have no idea what you're saying; you do not provide evidence.

Wow. The vilification of Anita Sarkeesian is highly disturbing since she is only highlighting what is pretty well known about the gaming industries unhealthy portrayal of women.
The fact that almost all female gamers are creeped out by the stereotypes of women in games is proof that it is wrong and needs to change. Thank goodness change is progressing, albeit slowly.
Maybe you should look at things objectively, or from a woman's point of view. Do you know what male privilege is?
Anita Sarkeesian is a person worthy of the highest contempt. She is illogical, a liar, and more; I even wonder if she takes everything she says seriously. I'll list some examples.

Everything is sexist (I can't show you the actual video since it's blocked in my country). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL2Zmye3BkY She proves that she is a professional victim; she takes offense when none is given.

She has repeatedly claimed that video games have an impact on the real world, which is why she takes video game "sexism" seriously. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZPSrwedvsg However, she doesn't provide evidence and also promotes belief similar to faith in religion. http://i2.wp.com/www.ruthlessreviews.co ... elieve.jpg She also disables comments and ratings, which begs the question, does she support conversation about feminism that isn't in line with her own views?

She also states that "women being a naturally weaker gender" is a myth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6p5AZp7r_Q This is factually incorrect. Women ARE generally physically weaker. http://www.britannica.com/science/sexual-dimorphism and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17875489 If you and/or she cannot handle reality, that's not my problem--facts are facts.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZPSrwedvsg At 22:35, players are "supposed to get pleasure" from beating women up. If they are supposed to get pleasure, then the developers have done a poor job at sending that message; you lose points for beating those women up (which is shown in the footage). To show footage of you beating up people unnecessarily, losing points for it, then claiming that you're supposed to derive pleasure from it is dishonest; this is the reason that many, myself included, despise her--I don't despise people who disagree with me, I just have no patience for blatant dishonesty.

"The fact that almost all female gamers are creeped out by the stereotypes of women in games is proof that it is wrong and needs to change." You can't speak for all women, and the reason is thus: you have not provided proof that "almost all" female gamers are creeped out by stereotypes in video games.

Also, a person's opinion or offense taken is in no way indicative of how wrong it actually is. "The fact that almost all female gamers are creeped out by stereotypes of women in games is proof that it is wrong and needs to change." Here's a simple solution: if you're creeped out by the depiction of women in video games, make your own video games and/or just stop playing those games.

"Maybe you should look at things objectively, or from a woman's point of view." This statement is beyond ironic. You have claimed so much with no evidence; so I'm critiquing you objectively since you haven't provided proof.

As for "a woman's point of view," I don't care about women's "points of view" or personal anecdotes--it's not like I would care for the "points of view" of men, either--if they have points of view or other things that haven't been proven. Also, you shouldn't say "women" when you really mean "feminists." According to Gallup polls in 2001, only 25% of women polled called themselves feminists. http://www.gallup.com/poll/6715/feminis ... -name.aspx You can't speak for all women if the majority of them don't agree with feminism.

"Do you know what male privilege is?" Please point some out to me and actually cite your sources if you believe that male privilege is present in western countries

Feminism is a poisoned term, and I personally label myself as a feminist.

However, I am a feminist in regards to Bride Burning, and inability for many women to get educated because of their gender, FGM, and the like. The same way I care about male circumcision, or men being thought of as disposable.

Yes, in terms of Anti Sarkeesian, he does point out tropes in some games that portray women badly, but she lies about most games, and she is talking about a fictional media. Video Games are NOT a feminist issue, because videogame characters play no role on the treatment of women in reality. Not only that, but there are a TON of wonderful empowered women in gaming dating back to the origins of gaming. Not just as characters, but as developers as well.

50% of gamers are women, that would be oddity if gaming was such a toxic culture. And I say that as a female gamer who has been gaming since childhood. The main issue I have ever experienced with gaming is that I am not competitive, and therefore are seen as "lesser than" because of my love of JRPG's and Zelda and the like, and my dislike of fighting games and FPS's, but that is not gender related.

Besides, if you are viewing such demographics as white, nerdy, obese, ugly, perpetually angry white men, what woman in her right mind would be interested in getting involved in such a thing? But isn't the idea that gaming is toxic to minorities and women the SOLE PURPOSE of women and minorities creating the #NotYourShield?

But the idea of claiming that porn, or videogames with boobs in it, is sexist, is just what one of my favorite feminist games, Liana K, calls "Boob Libel." There is NOTHING wrong with sexually promiscuous women, even IF their sole intent is male and lesbian titillation. Women have the right to be sexy, and the right to please men if that is their personal choice, and in the case of most porn, it is. Fictional video game characters who are sexy are written that way, but that alone is not a bad thing.

Even boob windows and belly windows in female outfits are not an issue, because it happens in fantasy games which include dragons, orcs, and magic. So the "Realism" argument of "it isn't logically protective" is just retardation. I remember seeing a comic once that said Super Woman's boob window would impede her inhumane supernatural ability to fly faster than an airplane... because comic books always follow that laws of nature.

The issues of Manspreading, Mansplaining, Manterrupting, and even the "catcalling" of "have a nice day" is just more and more stupidity going on while we have issues regarding abortion clinics being forced to undergo laws with no real purpose than to stop abortions.

And as a feminist, I WANT to say that this is a minority of feminists who use these BS claims, but it really isn't in terms of actual Vocal Feminists. Many feminists are awesome, like Liana K or Angela Night. But then you have liars and just awful proponants, like Anita and the pedo Lena Dunham. Kinda like how veganism has huge fanbases around the god awful Freelee, DurianRider, Vegan Gains, and Gary Yourofsky, while more rational or level-headed vegans like Ginny Messina, Jack Norris, Unnatural Vegan, The Brown Vegan, and BiteSizedVegan, are virtually ignored.

It is best to understand that almost nobody who is against feminism as it is portrayed is against women having rights. 95% of people would vote for a woman as president, 98% of people think women should have equal rights, 25% of people identify as feminist.

Video games have do not impact on how women are perceived in the real world in the west. This has been scientifically debunked. Anita Sarkeesian has said before that (paraphrasing here), "Video games have a strong impact on how we view women in the real world."

"Enlisting a 3 year longitudinal design, the present study assessed the relationship between video game use and sexist attitudes, using data from a representative sample of German players aged 14 and older (N=824). Controlling for age and education, it was found that sexist attitudes—measured with a brief scale assessing beliefs about gender roles in society—were not related to the amount of daily video game use or preference for specific genres for both female and male players."

I fully agree. I mean all fictional media is vegan/feminist. Isn't it? After all if the oppression is happening to fictional characters it's not like it oppresses real people or animals.

It could probably just be the topic of "Stupid Christian Comments" for an episode or two. It would certainly be interesting having someone explain why homosexuality is not wrong or threatening in a tone of voice as awesome and professional as TVAs
