Japanese election today

Post by Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz »

Japanese Prime Minister and Chief Bastard Shinzō Abe has decided to hold an election in Japan to increase his majority. Tensions with the DPRK have seen his support rise, so this is considered a wise move on his part. Nevertheless, we can hope that he will meet the same fate as Theresa May and actually have the election backfire. But we may not be so certain as the exit polls predict a "supermajority" for his government and the opposition parties crushed.

If I still lived in Japan, I would probably vote for Kazuo Shii of the Japanese Communist Party. A party which I liked to term as a COIN (Communist Only In Name) Party, due to the fact that it isn't really Communist and is edging more towards Centrist Marxism or even Democratic Socialism. Ideally, I should like to vote for Tadatomo Yoshida of the Social Democratic Party, but they are now so small that they are practically insignificant.

All of the other parties are mostly conservatives, with one liberal of the "Constitutional Democratic" party, Yukio Edano.

What are your thoughts on this matter?

I have attached a poll where you can vote up to two options, because I didn't know whether I should have picked Shii because he is whom I would realistically vote for, or Yoshida because he is whom I would ideally vote for.
