It's fine to force kids to do things they don't want to do if them hating that thing is an acceptable outcome.

It's OK to hate taking showers, for instance. You'll still do it because you don't want to stink.
It's also probably OK for society if some people don't shower.

Hating learning is a more serious social problem.
