Are you part of a local atheist community, both online and offline? Do you have regular meets and what are they like if so? What do you think of atheist community building and how to go about it?

Re: Local atheist/vegan community
I don't think a community can really be based on atheism, like you couldn't start a hobby club on non-stamp-collecting.
But you can start or join communities based on separation of church and state (which will include religious people who find that interesting).
Or even just history and study of religions.
A community based on new atheism, which may be closer to anti-theism, may be more possible, but since the "angry atheist" tends to be more of a phase people go through before pragmatic realization of the real issues we face (and that we should work with theists who agree on them), it would be pretty sparse.
