Hi everyone! Over the past 4-6 hours I've been creating, editing, and rendering a 40 second video. Yes only 40 seconds. The video I created was the introduction to a youtube channel that I've made and I'd like to tell you my experience throughout the whole thing. Please note that I am in no way trying to promote my channel but simply give you a better understanding of what most youtubers go through to produce content.
The first 35 minutes of starting this major project off was buying software, and making channel art. The software in total cost me around $200-$325, and making the channel art was free. So far pretty easy right? Wrong. Afterwards I had to spend 2 hours learning how to use this software and what I could do with it. I then used what I had learned and tried my best to implement them into the video creating process. The amount of editing that it took to make this video was tremendous (And I still had minor mistakes in the finished product!). After I spent 3 hours editing it and rendering it, it was time to upload it. Uploading it wasn't really time consuming but I just couldn't wait until it was finished!
What I've learned from this short experience is just a taste of what youtubers have to go through, and I surely will be doing it again! It was fun but at the same time challenging which is what I like about it.
Here is the finished product

not a bad start. If you have not purchased a pop filter for your mic, its definitely worth it.

I'll definitely look into buying a pop filter for my mic, although I'm not too sure how it'll work out considering I'm using a pair of Turtle Beach P11's that I bought cheaply off of eBay.TheVeganAtheist wrote:not a bad start. Great start!
You can make a pop filter, if you want:

Also, there is a high pitch squeal through most of the audio track (like dog whistle high; you might not hear it) that should be removable with an audio filter on the computer.

Thanks! I hadn't noticed the high pitched squeal and will do my best to make sure my future videos don't have it in them.brimstoneSalad wrote:Great start!

Re: My experience creating a Youtube video
I've quickly resolved the static in the background of my videos. My next video (due to be published next week) will be night and day compared to my first one.
