to start with refering to animal research as vivisection isnt scientifically correct and is no longer the term used by scientists today. vivisection implies live animal dissection which isnt the case for much of animal research, its more of a perjorative used by the animal rights groups.
granted it was a silent protest, but they are showing up at a persons house without prior warning and given the number of individuals who decide to do this at their own call, their being no regulation for this (?) and the frequency of such visits it could become fairly even unbearably high.
despite research often involved in nontrivial issues including saving lives, having stringent regulations, use of anesthesia to avoid pain and treatment conditions and numbers that are in an entirely different league from the completely unnecessary raising of animals for meat, eggs and dairy, individuals seldom do this sort of thing for carnists ie show up at their houses for a protest, perhaps because they arent in the minority while researchers may often be in a community setting so its much easier to intimidate them.
next off while this was a silent protest, many others have been far from such nonviolent tactics. ive heard individuals spouting views like "whatever it takes". for instance

i completely agree that the behaviour of *some* of the animal researchers in the video was abysmal ( they didnt provide any retorts of why the science was important, one person even said something like go eat tofu (?) and that one guy's behavior especially was terrible, i would have expected them to be more professional).
the other issue is that most often the protests are at points of animal product consumption, so shouldnt they also be going to hospitals for protests since they want to prevent meds from being developed, a lot of which would be impossible if it were not for animal experimentation?
