One thing I find really funny that's related to this is when a movie's trailer spoils 80% of the best scenes in the movie and basically gives away the whole plot. I generally don't watch stuff in the theatre's due to loud sound anyways, but this compounds with that to turn the movie into a "maybe I'll watch it on Netflix if I have time to waste" type of movie rather than one I'm excited to see.

I enjoyed knowing what will happen in advance until seasons 5-6 of GoT, because I had read the books and was curious about how Dan&Dave would bring the story to life through another medium, what artistic decisions are necessary for TV, etc.

But now that the show is past the books, reading spoilers and knowing what will happen almost word for word doesn't enhance the experience at all for me. Perhaps the show will make reading the future books more interesting, as I'll have another (most probably worse) version to compare them to.
