Who is you favourite current world leader?

Post by Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz »

My favourite is Kim Jong-un, closely followed by Moon Jae-in.

Kim Jong-un is the Supreme Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and he has led his country to greatness, improving it even more so than his father Kim Jong-il. Under his administration, numerous science and technology institutes have been built to advance the knowledge of the Korean people, and the DPRK has became a beacon of human rights with its promotion of the Juche ideal, that humanity is the most important thing that there is, and that we are the deciders of our own destiny. He has also defied U.S. sanctions which have crippled his country economically and physically.

Moon Jae-in is the President of the Republic of Korea and he has overturned much of his far-right predecessor Park Geun-hye's administration, with his calls for peace with the DPRK and rejection of U.S. influence in south Korea. Despite controversial positions such as his opposition to nuclear power and homosexuality, his recent election seems promising for Korean reunification and left-wing politics.

Macron- progressive outsider, stands up to trump seriously the most, prioritizes climate change
Trudeau- liberal, cares about climate change, against drug criminalization
Merkel- liberal, cares about refugees, cares about climate change

The reason why I like Trudeau over Merkel isn't Bc I prioritize drug issues over refugees*

Here, a few key points that I would like to hear your thoughts on:

1. Macron wasn't really an outsider. He was given a big platform by the media and is also a Rothschild. It seems to me that the only real outsider during the election was Hamon (and to a lesser extent Melenchon).
2. It didn't really seem to me that Macron was standing up to Trump when he met him recently. They were very happy to be with each other, and shook each other's hands for a long time. Trump even said that Macron loves holding his hand.
3. It seems to me that if Macron prioritizes climate change, he is going the wrong way about resolving it as he opposes nuclear power, one of the most effective ways of dealing with it. I remember that this was a key talking point when I endorsed Jill Stein.
4. If Trudeau cares about climate change, he is definitely going the wrong way about resolving it. He has pushed for new pipelines in Canada, and his government is backing plans for the largest coal mine on earth.
5. Kim Jong-un fits almost all of the things you admire in a leader:

Progressive Outsider
Kim Jong-un undoubtedly fits this as he has stood up for the progressive values of Juche socialism and most of the world hates him for it.

Stands up to Trump seriously
I don't think you can get more serious about standing up to Trump than developing nuclear weapons to defy his imperialist aggression.

Cares about climate change
Under Kim Jong-un's administration. the DPRK government has invested a heavy amount of money into wind power and hydroelectic power. I think also nuclear power but I'm not certain. They have also condemned Trump for withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement.

Against drug criminalization
Cannabis is legal in the DPRK and can be seen growing freely on the streets. The penalty for other drugs is very light, compared to in the USA where their failed war on drugs is exponentially increasing the prison population.

Cares about refugees
Many North Korean defectors end up returning, and the DPRK government has accepted them back. They have also accepted refugees from other countries, and there is even a happy American living there.

Liberal
Well, obviously he doesn't fit this. Kim Jong-un is a socialist, not a liberal. But 5/6 isn't bad!
